Alphabetization[edit]

Yet another dumb question from Mercy: if things starting with "key" are lumped under the next significant word, why aren't "A Simple Key" and "an old tomb key" and such? Just wondering. Somercy 10:52, 14 September 2007 (EDT)

Good point, long time responding, didn't see this until now, but it makes sense, I just fixed it. I guess it's just because there's only 4 keys that start with "A" or "An", vs. almost half of all keys in the game starting with "Key". The 'K' section would have been severely overloaded if we hadn't separated those out. --TheRealLurlock Talk 14:00, 20 December 2008 (EST)
Yeah... well done. I don't know why I didn't spot that when I filled in the details. Probably a case of concentrating too much on the wood and not seeing the trees. Anyway. Thanks for fixing that. –RpehTCE 14:09, 20 December 2008 (EST)

Props[edit]

Wow. Props to the person that setup the template and added all the keys. I can't wait to start filling in the missing parts! Kaisar Dragon 15:52, 8 May 2008 (EDT)

Suran[edit]

Can someone confirm whether the Holding Cell Key carried by Dranas Sarathram actually unlocks Suran slave bracers? Upon opening the cells and discussing "Go Free" with those in the Slave Market, I get from each the same "no hope" response as slaves in Sadrith Mora, Molag Mar, etc. Thanks. 75.63.124.225 09:18, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

It does, but the slave must be in Suran, not in a building in Suran. rpeh •TCE 11:07, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Are you sure? That key is named "key_Suran_slave". All of the other slave keys are named like "key_suranslaves_01". There is actually a key in the CS named that, but it does not exist in the game. --Brf 13:53, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Discrepancy[edit]

Does Evilu Indrano of Shushan actually hold a key for Sha-Adnius? 75.62.197.238 08:41, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

No. I've fixed that. Thanks for pointing it out. rpeh •TCE 08:57, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Heavy key[edit]

I just obtained the Key to Lower Arkngthand in my current game of morrowind (with a few mods, but none that should alter this) and it weighs 50.00 and is worth 539 gold. Can anyone confirm whether this is a glitch, added by a mod, or intentional? — Unsigned comment by Xolroc (talkcontribs) at 00:58 on 27 August 2013

It's a mod. It should weigh nothing and be worth 300. That's with only Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon installed. I just checked. Jeancey (talk) 01:28, 27 August 2013 (GMT)

Preserved Ancient Key[edit]

Location is listed as nowhere, though I just found it in a Low Quality Chest beside Honthjolf in Aharnabi. Don't know what it opens, though. 82.45.108.113 21:24, 17 January 2014 (GMT)

There are two keys, the second one is the one you found. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:27, 17 January 2014 (GMT)
The other is in Punammu. It doesn't open the ancient chest there though. 76.174.116.82 03:09, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
This is already established on the page, so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up almost five years later. —Dillonn241 (talk) 04:12, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

Rusty Key not in Vivec Redoran Underworks[edit]

This is in OpenMW, using data files from the current GOG release (Jan 2023) with Patch for Purists. Confirmed with "Detect Key" spell.
