[edit] Bug mention
"Sometimes the game will not notice that you have killed him and the jornal entry which says you have completed the mission does not occur." This is a general bug affecting many other quests, in my experience. This probably could be deleted out safely. --Edwin Herdman 02:43, 7 March 2007 (EST)
ok well i was the one who put it there so feel free to remove it.--Duncans pumpkin 08:12, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
I believe this bug is especially common with this quest and, therefore, the fix should be mentioned. --Adamantios 19:59, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Mastrius
sorry if this is the wrong place (i know this is discussion of the article, not the quest)...
when i open the door mastrius is asleep! just lying on the floor, moving slightly (definitely breathing...) . i've thought about 'prodding' him slightly with my sword but i thougth maybe there is an alternative way of waking him that would start a quest. so i checked UESP and its not mentioned.... why does my game do this? i have no mods that affect the whole game....
EDIT: morrowind can be weird. i was searching around the internet for more clues as to why dear mastrius is asleep. i thought maabe its because i'm not a vampire and this seems to be a vampire quest. then i checked back on the screen and he'd woken up! so i checked the time: 6:23 PM. ahhh, so he was asleep during the day, because he's a vampire. right? i'll wait for some kind of confirmation on this before updating the page.
-I'm using the original XBox version, and I'm confirming that during daylight, 6am-8pm, he's lying on the floor, sort of moving, and interaction makes a loot box come up. I dropped a potion in it, and it was lost, and I waited until night. He was standing up and I was able to get the quest, and I got my potion back.
