Quest doesn't update after killing Umbra[edit]

When I killed Umbra the quest didn't finish properly even though I had spoken with Ashumanu Eraishah before. Why? — Unsigned comment by 198.168.48.130 (talk) at 12:41 on 20 October 2011

I had the same problem with PC GOTY. Fiwiji (talk) 18:56, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Steal Umbra from Umbra without killing him?[edit]

Is it possible to steal Umbra off of Umbra without killing him? If I cast disentegrate weapon on him over and over to break the weapon without talking to Umbra and starting the duel, and then I pickpocket the weapon off of him, could I then calm him and refuse the duel? It would be cool to walk away with Umbra without actually killing him. 67.240.90.162 02:17, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

I can't confirm for certain, but I am inclined to believe the answer is yes. It would be incredibly difficult to set up and would take a long time of having high skills in the relevant schools of magic.
Here's what we need: • Disintegrate Weapon (custom spell is best) • Calm Humanoid >= 20 • multiple Fortify Restoration 100 on self spells • multiple Fortify Skill: Sneak 100 on self • Chameleon 80-100% on self
It would also help to keep Umbra immobile so some form of Damage Strength
In cases where I've done this I start by fortifying my restoration up to ~400, then quickly cast fortify sneak spells on myself until it's as high as I can afford (~currently I average ~1200 Sneak thanks to Soul Trap + Fortify Magicka glitch), then I cast a quick Chameleon 100% on self and the save-scumming begins after the target is adequately Calmed.
With this technique I stole the Odd Dwemer weapon from Karrod and King Helseth's Dai-katana while I was looking straight at him. Chill fridge (talk) 18:27, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

Quest doesn't update after killing Umbra part 2[edit]

I have the same issue about the question not ending after killing Umbra; this happened on the Xbox GOTYE. I also started a new post here because my previous post was wiped out because it was replying to a 6 month old post. --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 23:31, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
