Alawen is a female Bosmer Archer who lives at Troll Candle Camp, south of the Gold Road between Anvil and Kvatch. She is the master trainer in Marksman.
[edit] Notes
- Alawen has a bad habit of wandering off and getting herself killed by bandits and/or wildlife. If this should happen and you are playing on the PC, you can spawn a new copy of her:
- Go to Troll Candle Camp.
- In the Console, enter
player.placeatme 0003C15F
This bug is fixed by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch.
[edit] Marksman Master Training
The two advanced trainers who can give you the master training reference necessary to start this quest are Pinarus Inventius and Reman Broder.
Before Alawen will provide training, she requires that you have one elven bow to receive training from her. Only an unenchanted elven bow will do, even though glass, ebony, and daedric are better quality. She is also a little picky regarding mathematics: make sure you have only one single elven bow when you speak with her (drop or leave any others you may have). Alawen will not take the bow, she just wants to make sure you're using "good equipment".
Elven bows may be found on Bandit bowmen, Marauder archers and Skeletons at level 9. Goblin Warlords may also carry Elven bows. (25% chance). At level 13, Elven bows may be available from vendors.
[edit] Quest Stages
- Notes
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage quest stage. Wherequestis the internal name of the quest, andstageis the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
