Sinderion is an Altmer Alchemist and merchant in the basement of The West Weald Inn in Skingrad. Sinderion sells alchemy equipment and ingredients, and provides master training in Alchemy.

His extremely low mercantile skill and his tendency to have a high disposition to the player (especially if you have completed his quest) makes Sinderion one of the better merchants in the game. He will give you better deals than almost any other merchant. One limitation is that he only has 400 gold available. Another pitfall of selling items to Sinderion, however, is that his list of merchandise never regenerates, which means that he keeps every single item you have ever sold him permanently in his inventory. If you use Sinderion regularly as a merchant the list can become long enough to cause the game to freeze up for a period every time you deal with him.

[edit] Alchemy Master Training

The two advanced trainers who can give you the master training reference necessary to start this quest are Ardaline and Brotch Calus.

Before providing training, Sinderion will ask you to find two bottles of wine: one of Tamika Vintage 399 and one of Surilie Brothers Vintage 399. Both can be randomly found in any container that stocks upper class drinks.

Places where you are guaranteed to find both wines are:

  • 6 bottles of Surilie and 7 bottles of Tamika are in Skingrad Castle, in the Wine Cellar
  • 1 bottle of Surilie and 4 bottles of Tamika are in the basement of Roland Jenseric's House in the Imperial City Temple District
  • 1 of each are in Bravil Castle, in the the Lord's Manor North Wing
  • 1 of each are upstairs in the Private Quarters of the Main Ingredient in the Imperial City Market District
  • 1 bottle of Surilie and 2 of Tamika are found by the wine racks in the Frostcrag Spire vault.
  • 1 of each are in the West Wing of Cloud Ruler Temple (taking them is not counted as stealing if you have joined the Blades).
  • 1 of each are in a cupboard in Benirus Manor in Anvil after completing Where the Sprits have Lease.

Alchemy Training (TrainingAlchemy)
Stage Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 I need to seek out Sinderion in Skingrad if I wish to learn more about Alchemy.
20 Sinderion has asked that I bring him a bottle of Tamika's Vintage 399 wine, and a bottle of Surilie Brother's Vintage 399 wine. I should acquire them so that he will agree to train me.
100 0Yes I have completed Sinderion's task, and he has agreed to train me in Alchemy.
200 0Yes Sinderion is dead. It will be impossible for me to receive further Alchemy training.
Notes
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage quest stage. Where quest is the internal name of the quest, and stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
