Tooth-in-the-Sea is a male Argonian Mage and the Master Alteration Trainer. As the advanced-level trainers will tell you, he lives, as his name implies, in the sea. You can find his night camp on the coast north of Bravil and can either follow him out to his spot in the sea or use your compass to locate him there.
[edit] Alteration Master Training
The two advanced trainers who can give you the master training reference necessary to start this quest are Abhuki and Athragar.
Before he will train you, Tooth-in-the-Sea will require that you stay underwater with him at the bottom of Niben Bay for three hours. Note that this is three in-game hours, which is about six minutes in player time. He will only begin the test if you talk to him before 1pm. You cannot wander too far from Tooth-in-the-Sea for the duration of the test. You can use Water Breathing spells or potions to survive, or you can wear any item with a Water Breathing enchantment. You cannot use Water Walking.
Argonians are exempt from this requirement.
[edit] Quest Stages
- Notes
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage quest stage. Wherequestis the internal name of the quest, andstageis the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
