Alix Lencolia

Alix Lencolia is a Breton crusader who is currently staying at Faregyl Inn, south of the Imperial City. He is the master trainer in Blade.

Alix really doesn't have much of a life; when he is not conversing with the other two inhabitants at the Inn, he wanders around without even sleeping or eating, which means he's available for training 24 hours a day.

He carries a silver longsword and sports a brown shirt, doeskin shoes and tan linens.

[edit] Blade Master Training

The two advanced trainers who can give you the master training reference necessary to start this quest are Rhano and Sherina.

Despite being a crusader, Alix is more interested in fame than goodness, and will only offer you training if he's heard of you - your Fame or Infamy statistic must be above twenty. He doesn't care which, but you must be known. You can increase these stats by doing quests or committing crimes. See the Fame and Infamy articles for more details. His unique dialogue is related to his training:

If you don't have either fame or infamy of twenty or above
"Training? From me? I'm sorry, friend, but I have no idea who you are. Never heard of you. I'm afraid I don't offer training to just anyone. If you were famous, perhaps... or infamous, I suppose... that might count for something. But, alas, you're not.", and
"Until I hear your name spoken by others, don't expect any training from me. When you're known as a hero or a villain, I might change my mind.", and
"Oh, I don't think so. As much as I enjoy helping those less fortunate than I, I just can't bring myself to do it."
If your infamy is twenty or higher
"I've heard you mentioned in hushed tones. Quite the evil doer, are you? Well, what's infamy but another type of fame, after all. If you need to improve your skill with a Blade, I'll happily teach you what I know. Imagine how many people will talk if we're seen together?"
If your fame is twenty or higher
"I've heard word of your great deeds. It's good to meet someone else striving to be known throughout the land. We're peas in a pod, you and I. I'd be happy to offer whatever help I can."

[edit] Quest Stages

Blade Training (TrainingBlade)
Stage Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 I need to find Alix Lencolia if I want more training in the use of Blades. It's been suggested that he's at Faregyl Inn; I should look for him there.
20 Alix Lencolia has refused to train me, saying that he's never heard of me. I'll need to make a name for myself, one way or the other, before he'll offer his services.
100 0Yes Alix Lencolia has said he's heard of me, and so has offered to train me in the use of Blades.
200 0Yes Alix Lencolia is no more. I can be taught nothing more about my skill with Blades now.

Notes
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage quest stage. Where quest is the internal name of the quest, and stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
