Bralsa Andaren

Bralsa Andaren is a female Dark Elf Mage who teaches Master level Destruction skills. She spends her time somewhat south west of Weatherleah in an area bounded by Weatherleah, the Ayleid Ruins of Nonungalo and Old Fort Dirich. Within that area you will also find the Wayshrines of Julianos and Kynareth but these are not on your map. At times she can be found near the Wayshrine of Kynareth; at other times she will travel rather far from that area in pursuit of deer, especially after you complete the master training quest for her.

She runs around casting destruction spells on the local wildlife in order to bring down life itself and challenge the gods. Oddly, she does not kill people so perhaps she does not wish to die at the hands of mortals whilst issuing her challenge to the gods.

Once you have completed the quest to gain master training from her, she becomes more and more difficult to find. It's also important to note that an Oblivion gate may randomly open in the approximate middle of her territory. So if you fast travel to meet her, travel to Weatherleah or you might trigger the Daedra at the gate to attack and kill her.

If you are unable to find Bralsa and need to train, kill all the daedra in the area and then return to the Kynareth Wayshrine. Walk a few paces due north and wait in real time (but do not use the game's wait feature). She will return to this location once she has slaughtered all the nearby deer.

Just South a few steps of Wayshrine of Kynareth is a bed, near a big rock. If you wait until 7am she should be standing near the bed and you will be able to train. If she's not at the bed between midnight and 7am, chances are she has died and you will need to resurrect her via the console.

[edit] Destruction Master Training

The two advanced trainers who can give you the master training reference necessary to start this quest are Delphine Jend and Marc Gulitte.

Before providing training, Bralsa Andaren asks you to give her twenty Bear Pelts. These can be acquired the hard way by killing bears (black bears appear randomly starting at level 9 in most places, or level 7 along roads). Or you can purchase them from merchants. Most general merchants have an infinite supply of bear pelts and therefore easy sources; as soon as you buy the five bear pelts in their inventory, five more will appear.

It is easily possible for Bralsa to be killed by the wildlife. The chances of her dying increase each time you visit her, because most dangerous creatures only spawn when your character is in the area. Therefore, it is advisable to maximize your training each time you visit. Before your first trip to find her, collect all twenty bear pelts and have enough gold to immediately buy five training sessions (i.e., at least 3600 gold).

A bug may cause Bralsa to take less than twenty bear pelts from you. This may be caused by having a combination of stolen and non-stolen bear pelts in your inventory.

Notes
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage quest stage. Where quest is the internal name of the quest, and stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
