Zone 1: Fort Ash

Upon entering the fort, things appear rather quiet. Proceed straight ahead until you pass into a more 'natural' tunnel and arrive at a junction. Turn left and follow the corridor until you come to an opening in the right-hand wall. There is likely to be an enemy here, so be ready for a fight. Head through the opening, and you will come to another junction. Archers can sneak straight ahead, moving out onto the walkway above the next room, from where they should be able to take out any enemies in the room. Otherwise, take the right-hand passage, which slopes down into the room, and confront the occupants directly. Once any hostile goblins/rats have been dealt with, there are a couple of chests to investigate.

Once you have finished in that room, take the south passage, but watch out for the dart traps. You should be able to jump over them without injury. The passage ends in a large door, and there is likely to be a hostile goblin in the room beyond. You can either fight them directly, or draw them into the dart traps. Once they are out of the way, you are free to loot the room, but be careful of the dart traps on the pillars. You should be able to check the dead treasure hunter and the chest in the center of the room without getting struck by any of the darts, but move carefully.

Head down the passage to the west, and watch out for the tripwire that releases four swinging maces. There is likely to be a hostile creature nearby, so you may be able to lure them into the trap. Follow the passage as it turns northwards and heads into what appears to be some form of goblin kitchen. There may be a goblin in the vicinity, presumably the cook. Passing through the door in the north wall brings you back to the first junction.

Once this area has been cleared and looted, head over the walkway above the room in the northeast corner, and pass through door C into the Fort Ash Stockade.

Zone 2: Fort Ash Stockade

Fort Ash Stockade

This area is fairly straightforward. Upon entering, proceed straight ahead and deal with the one or two goblins in the alcove to the left before looting the two chests around the corner to the right. The way ahead (east) is blocked by three gates, and there are four handles on the walls that you can turn. Three of the handles raise the gates, while the fourth lowers one of the gates.

Once you have raised all three gates, you can proceed eastwards along the corridor, which turns southwards before coming to a junction. Look east, and you should be able to see the boss-level goblin across a walkway. Deal with them, bearing in mind that they may have a companion 'bodyguard' with them. You can then loot the boss chest in the southeast corner. There is also another chest nearby.

The room below the goblins is of little interest. There are four rats in a rough 'pen' with some bones and half-eaten body parts. There is no treasure, although of course you can obtain some fresh rat meat.

Occupants:

  • 1 boss-level Goblin at location A on map
  • 2 Goblins
  • 1 Goblin Enemy (each 80% probability Goblin, 13% Rat, 7% Mud Crab)
  • 4 Rats

Treasure:

Doors and Gates:

  • There is one door (at C) in/out of this zone, leading to the zone Fort Ash
  • 3 Portcullis Gates at D, E, and F

Other:

  • 1 bedroll at location b on map
