When the player first meets Glenroy, he is following his captain into the player's prison cell. He is less surprised than his superior at the fact that the cell is filled, and wastes no time in asserting his authority: "You! Prisoner! Stand aside. Over by the window. Stay out of the way, and you won't get hurt." Speaking to him shows how clearly he mistrusts the player: "The Emperor may trust you, but I don't. Stay out of our way." Landing a killing blow on an assassin changes his tune however, and he will tell you, "You handled yourself pretty well back there" and "Maybe the Emperor is right about you."
Once his captain is dead, and further assassination attempts seem likely, Glenroy begins getting worried: "We should find a defensible spot and protect the Emperor until help arrives." His skittishness is evident when the player rejoins the Emperor and his entourage: "Dammit, it's that prisoner again! Kill him/her, s/he might be working with the assassins." Only a few rooms later, he is scripted to die seconds before the Emperor even if nobody attacks him.
