There are two varieties of the ingredient Human Heart, both of which are only found as already-collected samples. It is not possible to extract hearts from dead NPCs. Also, human hearts cannot be duplicated in the Arch Mage's Enchanted Chest.

The two types of Human Hearts have different FormIDs, different values, and different weights. However, their alchemy effects are identical. In addition, Human Hearts have the same alchemical effects as Daedra Hearts. Therefore it is particularly easy to make multiple-effect potions using these ingredients (although the only two resulting positive effects are Restore Health and Shock Shield).

2 samples are in Fort Farragut. These are the first type (FormID=00071F36) of human heart.
1 sample is in Claudius Arcadia's Basement in the Imperial City Talos Plaza District. This is the first type (FormID=00071F36) of human heart.
