On-Staya Sundew

On-Staya Sundew is an Argonian thief and the chief steward at Castle Leyawiin. Her title is more ceremonial than anything else, however, as Count Marius Caro seems to have little use for her services, and his wife harbors an intense dislike for all Argonians in general. Not feeling too comfortable about what she sees and hears in the castle, On-Staya Sundew knows her advisory services are more or less unwanted. Regardless, she keeps doing her job tirelessly, mainly to keep an eye on what she fears is an uprising racial takeover of Leyawiin, planned by the Countess and Hlidara Mothril.

She sleeps in the western room of the Steward's Quarters every night between midnight and 6am. After waking up, she spends the first two hours of the day wandering around her own quarters. When the Count heads for the County Hall at 8am, On-Staya rushes to meet him and will escort him there. Unfortunately, and unlike most advisers, she will not stand by his side once he gets there, but will find a spot on the balcony above. At noon, she will return to her quarters and stay there until 4pm, when she takes a stroll around downtown Leyawiin, preferably near the Chapel and the house for sale. At 8pm, she enters the dining room in the County Hall and eats an awkward dinner with the count and Hlidara. She leaves the table at 11pm and spends an hour relaxing in her quarters before going to bed at midnight.

On Sundas, she will break off her schedule at 8am and escort the Count on his weekly trip to the Great Chapel of Zenithar for two hours of praying. At 10am, she returns to her quarters and just wanders around, only interrupted when she makes random checks on the Count in the County Hall. At 4pm she leaves the castle and returns to her usual schedule. An exception to her daily routine occurs once the Sanguine quest is initiated. Because of the crowded dinner table, On-Staya will skip her 8pm dinner and instead wander around her quarters until bedtime.

She wears a set of common middle class clothing, a burgundy linen shirt with matching linens and a pair of doeskin shoes. She carries a useful raft of castle keys and a leveled amount of gold.

When you meet her for the first time, she will introduce herself and hint at her situation in the castle: "On-Staya Sundew, Castle Leyawiin's steward. And chief advisor to Count Marius Caro. In theory..." When asked about Leyawiin, she will fill you in on both the racial conflicts in Leyawiin and her theories regarding the Countess: "Leyawiin has always been a melting pot of races and cultures. Of course, racial and cultural conflicts produce inefficiencies and confusion... I fear Lady Leyawiin and Hlidara Mothril plan to push the minorities aside and establish a bland, Imperial-dominated culture here in Leyawiin."
