  • The following plants can be found near the entrance: 40 Bog Beacon plants, 35 Clouded Funnel Cap plants, and 77 Green Stain Cup plants

Zone 1: Onyx Caverns

Onyx Caverns
Onyx Caverns

This is the first zone of the caverns. It contains most of the enemies and a fair amount of treasure, and is fairly straightforward.

  • Upon entering the zone, you might notice a raised Rock Wall. It is lowered from the other side, so don't worry about it for now.
  • Proceed into the first chamber, which contains a barrel of torches and nothing else.
  • Moving into the hallway you might encounter your first Bandit. Simply charging into the hallway could provoke 2 - both melee, so take care.
  • If you only attracted one Bandit from the hallway, the other will be in the next chamber. Deal with him if you haven't already.
  • Move into the smaller northern chamber and kill the Bandit and Nuisance Animal residing therein, and loot the chest along the east wall.
  • Head into the large chamber to the east, but watch out for the spiked ball trap in the entryway. It is activated by a pressure plate, so watch the ground.
  • Surprisingly, for its size, this room is fairly empty. Kill the Nuisance Animal along the northern wall and proceed east, to get the chest in the chamber's northeastern corner.
  • A patrolling melee Bandit may catch you off guard; be aware of your surroundings!
  • The misty lower lever of this room holds nothing of value.
  • An archer Bandit patrols the southern hallway; do not chase him into the next chamber unless you want to fight an additional melee Bandit. Instead, assault him with ranged attacks or magic, or retreat and make him chase you.
  • There is, as previously mentioned, another melee Bandit in the next chamber. There's also a Nuisance Animal, but like most of those in this cavern, the Bandits will have killed them already. Additionally, there is a bedroll here if you need to rest or level up.
  • The next long hallway is safe, but the chamber it connects to contains an archer Bandit. The little opening on the northern wall holds a chest.
  • Moving westward into the final oddly-shaped chamber, the last melee Bandit will likely be on your right. Loop around to the other side of the wall and loot the chest. Another 4 bedrolls are in the northern part of the chamber. Rest up if need be, and enter the door to the second zone.

Zone 2: Onyx Canyon Bridge

Onyx Canyon Bridge
Onyx Canyon Bridge

This is the second zone in the caverns. It is very linear and the boss is oddly at the beginning of the zone rather than the end.

  • Immediately upon entering you may be noticed by the Bandit Ringleader, if so, retreating into the previous zone to fight him is the safest strategy. After he is disposed of, his Boss Chest is on the right side of the room, just past the entryway.
  • Traveling into this room, an archer might notice you. Take her out from a distance if you can, for another archer lies in wait in the northern hallway.
  • Once both are dead, proceed into the hallway, looting the chest along the way.
  • Entering the large chamber, a melee Bandit will be on your left. Draw him back into the hallway and dispose of him however you can.
  • Back in the large chamber, cross the narrow bridge over the gap. An archer will be waiting for you; try rushing her to trap her against the northern wall. Loot the nearby chest, and enter the eastern tunnel.
  • Note the pile of logs nestled in the ceiling. A few feet further down the tunnel there is a wire tripline, which will cause the logs to fall down and roll over you from behind. Either trip the line and jump out of the way, or jump over the line completely.
  • In any case, another Bandit will be waiting for you in the northern bend of the tunnel. Take him out and proceed south up the incline.
  • In the next chamber another Bandit will be waiting. Eliminate him and grab the chest in the northeast corner.
  • Head west into the misty tunnel. You're almost finished! But beware, there is a hard-to-spot tripline a little past the halfway point, which will trigger a swinging log trap from behind. If you hit the tripwire and keep moving, you'll be fine.
  • Climb the incline and enter the door. You'll be back in the first zone, at what appears to be a dead end. But flip the nearby switch, which will cause the Rock Wall to lower. Take a right, and you're back at the entrance, and finished with the caverns.
