In Oblivion random worlds, the caves may also be randomized. The outside entrance to a random cave is labeled Nether Tunnels; interior doors from one zone to another are labeled Oblivion Cave. The cave is divided into three zones (start, middle, and end), each of which can be any of seven different layouts. There is a 50% chance that the middle zone is skipped. Which layout you get is determined when you open the door to that zone.

In some worlds it is possible to enter a random cave system from either end, which can cause some glitchy behavior. If you enter a set of random caves from one end, but do not go out the other end, you can then return to the surface and go to the second entrance. At that entrance, you will now enter a different set of caves. When you reach the other end of the system, you will no longer be able to exit; the door says This door leads nowhere when you try to open it. If you like the random loot in caves, this can be used to your advantage, because you can collect loot from 4-6 cave sections, instead of just 2 or 3. Be careful when doing this, however, because if you jump down a level at any point you will be trapped with no exit.

[edit] Start Section

There are seven possible layouts that you will encounter when you first enter the cave: four are named The Hate Tunnels and three are named Worm Gut Channels

Middle Section

There is a 50% chance that you will not have a middle section (i.e., the door at the end of the start section will open directly to the end section). If you do get a middle section, there are seven possible layouts: four are named Molten Halls and three are named Fume Vaults.
