[edit] Second set of Rockshatters

Does anyone know what the second set of Rockshatters is for in the CS? IDs are 0000CF1A-0000CF1F. They appear identical, except the extra ones don't have the "Quest Item" flagged. Meaning that you can probably drop it without a problem, though it will probably be at full weight instead of the 0 weight that the quest-version is at. I can't figure out if one of these is on Bjalfi's corpse and the other is dropped afterwards, or what. -- TheRealLurlock 20:59, 7 June 2006 (EDT)

Based on the notes on the page, it seems likely that the second set of IDs are used after you've turned Rockshatter in at the end of the quest. So if you decide to pickpocket Maeva, you will get one with the IDs 0000CF1A-0000CF1F. I haven't tested this in game, but I did look into the Draconian Madstone, which also two IDs, one in-quest and one post-quest. --Nephele 12:16, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Worked after complete, too

I was waiting for the master forger to complete the Lex document and the Rockshatter quest was long complete. I went to the fort (since it repopulates with marauders) and sure enough, Bialfi's body was still where I'd killed him, and there was a second Rockshatter there. Pretty decent shock damage, plus weakness to shock. And the first one I got did NOT have that.

Zero weight, flagged as a quest item, and the wife responds about how she's glad to have Rockshatter back. So I can't get rid of it (I'm on 360), but it's not hurting my encumbrance.

[edit] Quest Fix

After falling victim to the well known "When the Vow Breaks" quest bug with Rockshatter, I decided I was going to find a fix, as I didn't want the multiple Rockshatters I had picked up cluttering up my inventory and I wanted to complete the quest.

NOTE: I used the below method after doing the following:

  1. Picked up Rockshatter from Bjalfi's corpse.
  2. Talked to Maeva about Bjalfi, couldn't get a dialogue option to get rid of Rockshatter.
  3. Returned to Bjalfi's corpse and picked up another Rockshatter.
  4. Returned to Maeva and still had no dialogue option.

If you did something different, the below method should still work to complete the quest and get your reward, but all of the journal entries might not be created.

  1. COPY YOUR SAVEGAME BEFORE ATTEMPTING!
  2. Proceed to the Whitmond Farm and go inside
  3. Stand near to and facing Maeva, but do not initiate a conversation with her
  4. Open your inventory and count the number of Rockshatter weapons you have
  5. Close the inventory screen
  6. Open the console with the ~ key
  7. Enter the following sequence of commands, replacing <RockshatterCount> with the number of Rockshatters you have:
    • player.removeitem 00014EC2 <RockshatterCount>
    • player.removeitem 00014EC3 <RockshatterCount>
    • player.removeitem 00014EC4 <RockshatterCount>
    • player.removeitem 00014EC5 <RockshatterCount>
    • player.removeitem 00014EC6 <RockshatterCount>
    • player.removeitem 00061421 <RockshatterCount>
  8. With the console still open, click on Maeva. You should notice at the top of the screen in the center her name will appear with a numerical ID
  9. Enter the following command
    • additem 0000CF20 1
  10. Click on Maeva again. Notice the name and ID at the top of the screen disappear
  11. Enter the following commands in the console
    • player.additem 00061435 1
    • setstage "SQ10" 100
  12. Voila! The quest is now completed, you got your reward, any duplicate occurences of the weapon you had are now gone and your journal shows that you completed the quest!

Easier way?

If you have multiple Rockshatter maces in your inventory - remove them except for one using console commands as described above - fixes the quest - dialogue options reappear.

[edit] The Best Rockshatter

The best stats for Rockshatter are at lvl.25+. Are the stats locked as soon as you get the mace or can you give it to Maeva and come back later at a higher level to steal it and get the best version? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.45.192.114 (talkcontribs) on 14. October 2008.

The stats are finalized after you complete the quest. The only way to get the best version, is to wait until you are level 25 or higher before completing the quest. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 15:12, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
