Collectors are characters whose primary motivation is to collect as many items as possible. In general, this concept applies to any race or gender.
- Decide whether you want to specialize in certain types of items (e.g., books, Ayleid items, artifacts, etc.) or whether you want to collect everything, including clutter.
- Collectible items include:
- Varla Stones
- Welkynd Stones
- Soul Gems
- Ayleid Statues
- Jewels
- Amulets and rings, especially if enchanted.
- Daedric Artifacts
- Items listed in Tamrielic Lore
- Ingredients, including those from the Shivering Isles if you have the expansion
[edit] Possible Activities
- Explore every ruin looking for collectible items.
- Quests to complete include:
- Umbacano's quests (choose whether he is a colleague, benefactor, or competition)
- Vahtacen's Secret
- Lifting the Vale (including The Forgotten Chests of Pale Pass)
- Blood of the Divines and Miscarcand
- 100% Completion lists several accomplishments that a collector may wish to complete.
- Put your collectibles on display in your house.
- Do not use items that you collect, in order to keep them in mint condition.
- Only Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad and Battlehorn Castle (from the Fighter's Stronghold official plug-in) contain display cases.
- Put your most treasured items in the most prominent locations
- See house-related roleplaying for general ideas on how to display items in your house.
- When you have Followers, bring them to your house and give them a tour of your collection.
[edit] Variations
[edit] Ayleid Collector
Umbacano, a collector of Ayleid antiques.
Be a collector of Ayleid artifacts (see also Archaeologist):
- Visit all of the Ayleid Ruins.
- Collect all of the items related to the Ayleids.
- Gather all books that make reference to the Ayleids.
[edit] Librarian
- Collect all books, including all volumes of multi-volume series and all rare books.
- Collect newspapers.
- Finish all quests that cause a special newspaper edition to be printed and add it to your collection.
- Encourage reading by distributing books in places where the public hangs out (inns, pubs).
- Take books out to small settlements away from large cities.
- Collect books for the refugees from Kvatch.
- Start a book club in Seridur's basement, or other places where the residents are frequently reading books.
- Store rare books in a protected area to ensure they are not damaged or lost.
[edit] Wine Collector
- Collect all the rare varieties of wine.
- If you have Shivering Isles, be sure to collect the new wines added by the expansion.
- Store wine in your house's wine cellar:
- Benirus Manor and Battlehorn Castle have good wine cellars.
- Rosethorn Hall has a basement and is located in the center of the wine industry.
- Complete the quest A Venerable Vintage.
- Make your own wines: combine Grapes with other alchemy ingredients and give your potion an appropriate name (see Alchemist).
- Befriend Tamika and the other winemakers in Skingrad.
- Harvest the grapes from the vineyards as if you had a contract with the vineyard owners.
- Get the Battlehorn castle Vintner to make his special wines and add them to your collection.
- Activate the hidden gravestones in the Frostcrag spire Vault to obtain the Daedra Whiskey.
[edit] Pack Rat
- Collect everything and anything possible.
- Goal To Achieve: Collect at least one of every item in the whole game.
- Recommended Race: Argonian, Khajiit, or Wood Elf.
- Recommended Clothes: Beggar type clothes. Nothing too fancy.
- Buy a house, either the Imperial City house, the sewers, or even live in a cave! Your items may disappear if you live in the cave though.
- Throw all your junk in your house, dropping each item one by one to make your house look like a pit.
- Organize your items if you wish. Much like Big-Head's house in The Shivering Isles.
- As a pack rat, you never throw anything away. Instead, keep everything in your house, cave, or sewer storage space.
