The Gore Steeple is one of five random main towers that you can encounter in the random Oblivion worlds. See The Main Tower for more information on the random main towers. This is one of the smaller random towers, and is mainly notable for its collection of runed portals.

After ascending through the Corridors of Dark Salvation, you encounter a multitude of Runed Portals. If you don't feel like puzzling through them, you can just run right past and follow the ramp up to the Sigillum Sanguis. If you want to use the portals, take the middle of the first three; this takes you half way up to a set of four portals. Go to fourth and last (going clockwise) of the four portals and use it, which will take you up to the Sigillum Sanguis.

If you experiment with the portals it is easy to get lost, since it is hard to tell where you are connecting to. Most of the portals are basically useless, just spitting you out at a portal right next to the one you activated. The details of the portals are:

  • On the first level there are three portals, going clockwise starting from the door to the Corridors of Dark Salvation label them 1A, 1B, and 1C
    • 1A and 1C are connected: activating 1A takes you to 1C and vice versa
    • 1B is connected to the middle level, specifically 2B
  • On the middle level there are four portals, in clockwise order label them 2A, 2B, 2C, and 2D
    • 2A and 2C are connected
    • 2B is connected to the bottom level, specifically 1B
    • 2D is connected to the top level, specifically 3A
  • On the third level there are three portals: 3A, 3B, and 3C
    • 3B and 3C are connected
    • 3A is connected to the middle level, specifically 2D
