White Gold Tower is the central spire located at the Imperial City's heart.

The tower was built by the Aldmer in the middle Merethic Era [1] and was the center of the region occupied by their kin, the Ayleids. The distance between the Ayleids' lands and those of their theoretical overlords led to to the establishment of White Gold Tower as an independent city state in 1E1 [1]; a state that lasted until Alessia overthrew Ayleid rule in 243 [2] [3]

Currently it serves as the Imperial Palace and hosts the vaults and libraries of the Moth Priesthood. It can be seen from all over Imperial City and its surrounding countryside and it is a very defining feature and monument.

[edit] Notes

  • Emperor Uriel Septim VII is seen standing at the top of this tower in the game's trailer.
  • The game developers did not intend for the player to access the top of the tower, and therefore they did not fully create the area. In particular, no trapdoor or other means of accessing the tower has been added to the game.
    • If you wish to get to the top of the tower, anyway, it is possible to use the Floating Paint Brush Glitch. However, past a certain height, you will simply clip through the tower.
