I was able to complete this quest killing 3 of the mercs, and I still got the bonus. Ratwar

I suspect you did so while sneaking and they never detected you. I, on the other hand, somehow managed to sell the poison, so I was forced to kill Roderick the old fashioned way.

• I was able to complete the quest and get the bonus while killing all 4 guards. I killed the 4th guard while she stood watch over Roderick. A successful sneak attack is all you need. Its not difficult to complete the quest with no kills, especially if you have Nocturnal's Cowl.

when i went to the medicine cabinet i took the medicine. but i couldn't replace it with the poison. what buttons do i press to put the poison in the cabinet. or is the game messed...

somebody please help. i can't get the achievment if i dont finish this

If pressing the left trigger and selecting it from your inventry desn't do it, it must have glitched.

He can't be woken up. Trying to talk to him brings up a message about how ill he looks, and one hit with a weapon kills him (completing the quest but losing the bonus). --Rpeh^Talk 04:48, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

I don't suppose you can witness the man's demise at all? I hung around for awhile after replacing the poisons and one of the guards went over and stood next to the man, but it didn't seem like they were going to administer the "medicine." Does that ever happen?

I noticed the poison is not located in your Potions tab, but rather in the "Everything" tab. It threw me off for a while, I thought I had sold it or something.

Yes and yes. The guards are all still there although Roderick's body disappears, and they attack you on sight. –Rpeh^{•T•C•E•} 06:49, 2 August 2008 (EDT)
