[edit] Say What Again?

I was walking along the streets of Bruma, associating with the locals, throwing a coin or two at the more-common-than-you-would-think beggars walking around. When I realised that every time I give a coin to the beggars their voices change. (as if they used a different voice actor or something) this works with both male and female beggars (although less noticable with female) and I found it quite amusing. Anyone know what's up with that? Progamming error? Lack of voice actor talent? If anyone knows please post here.

-They really should have either recorded more 'beggar voice' lines, or limited what you can ask them about. Oh well. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.170.203.26 (talkcontribs).

Or it's a wry comment on beggars? Until they get the coin they're frail and helpless and once they've got it they're perfectly fine? Perhaps somebody at Bethesda is simply being cynical. –RpehTCE 02:41, 29 January 2008 (EST)

[edit] Blessed are the Meek, for They Shall Inherit the Earth

Okay, so they may not quite inherit the earth, but I've had some (real) people tell me that if a beggar collects enough gold, he might eventually get himself better clothes or a suit of armor. I'm not sure if this is true or not because I've never seen it happen. Have you? (Gromir the Wasted) 24.2.171.37 14:15, 14 May 2008 (EDT)

Nice theory but not true. There's nothing in the AI to allow any NPC to buy anything. I think your friends are winding you up! –RpehTCE 00:50, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Yeah, just had to make sure. I'm not the kind of person who would sit there and offer coin after coin after coin to a beggar just to see if he would buy anything. Thanks for the clarification! (Gromir the Wasted) 24.2.171.37 21:14, 15 May 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Cure

-Can Beggars Be Cured Of The Diseases? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.156.74.155 (talkcontribs).

Nope. There's no mechanism to allow such a thing to happen as far as I can see. –RpehTCE 02:11, 18 May 2008 (EDT)

[edit] No Charity required

Just wanted to note that you don't actually have to give them a coin to complete this quest. Merely starting a dialogue with the 19 beggars is sufficient to complete the quest. Perhaps the main page should be adjusted to reflect this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.74.221.152 (talkcontribs).

Done. Thanks for pointing that out; the quest page was correct but that one wasn't. –RpehTCE 09:53, 5 June 2008 (EDT)

Just Wondering Do Beggars Eat I Never Seen Them Eat I Only Saw One Eat When I Had To Go Talk To The Countess Of Bruma To Meet Martin At The Chapel And I Saw Fetid Jofnhild Eating

Ehm, if you have seen one eating than yes, they eat! 82.95.155.246 10:18, 4 August 2008 (EDT)
