Table[edit]

YAAAAH! It took a LOT of wurk but its UP! I MADE A TABLE! See, I wer' frustrated clicking on every link to find out what it was and if it had any intresting quests to check out - I was searching for towns, because, well, I like them. So, after a large sigh and a long search (and several Deep Purple songs), I decided to make a stress removing table. I'll do it with the other place-markers, if this goes up, and may add a "Map" link to it, at the side, 'cause I got more room than I expected. If this gets edited out... I shall be rather displeased, haha.

Thanks for putting the work into it. But the bad news is that there's already a much better way of doing that. Using the Place Link template you can automatically insert a description of the place that includes all of the basic info. It even includes the map link... although we're working out some issues right now with the best way to do the map link. The biggest advantage of the place link is that the description is a standardized description. It only has to be created once and it can be used anywhere it's needed; if there's a mistake it only has to be modified once. And the description was set up to provide all the basic info that readers are normally interested in. So I'm going to change the page over to place links. Sorry to undo all of your hard work, but I think it really is a better overall solution. --NepheleTalk 16:59, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
I'm very displeased ^_-. I could have been bluddy well informed about that beforehand! But, still. Yes, that does sound better, but I thought the table looked prettier, haha. Can I make another table, about quests? Or is there some mashup to aid with that, or a page that has all the quests in Blackwood that could be merged, or serves a purpose not to merged into this? I want to put something into this page, really. Immortilise myself to thousands of eager viewers who want to rock and roll in a the wood of black! Its a bit of a pride thing, haha. Like the pharoes, and thier pyramids, or the greek architects, emperors, builders and painters who constructed great buildings, great theaters, cahtedrals, bathouses, cities! Vikings and thier trillions of escapades and Sagas and Poems to accompany them! Like Deep Purple and thier godly pantheon of melodies! All that! Well, not as vast as that, but I want my not-so-hard work to be minorly recognised, by that.. Guy... That poor, fat, young guy with cheese on his face who wants some Solid Gold Easy Action like that Marc Bolan describes in that song... Solid Gold Easy Action... That guy, who looks at his Witchunter Khajitt, or his Redguard Barbarian, or his Imperial Nightblade, and the swampy, beautiful life surrounding him, the two moons sculpted in the sky by both the Nine and the men behind those big screens who did all the work, the trees that penetrate that dark, rolling, star-riddled and calming sky with thier deep, green marvellous tops, that well constructed, shimmering, still river of pure tranquility, those mountains that wrap the land, mishapen and dusty in the darkening dusk, that distant city he so longs to visit there since he decided to give up fast travelling because some bug messed it all up last time, those dead-riddled tombs that stand beneath him with such sad pasts that have been long forgotton because of the bloodshed caused by the adventuers and bandits that scower those same dungeons, but all of that, he does not appreciate, because a bandit in Fishermans rock keeps scurrying into the air beyond attack by a bug, or because he's scavanging it so closely that he doesn't notice it all, because his endless search for that rare alchemy ingredient that will give him Night-Eye, or Chamelion, or Breath Underwater, or restore his fatigue after a long battle with a vampire in Fort Redman just a few feet away. As he tends to his Mortar and fills his empty bottles, he looks for the action no self-discovery could earn him, he seeks to find a dungeon with a prize, he seeks a quest, a town, a follower - I want to help him, I want this guy to read my tables and comments, and I want his mind to think "Wow, never knew that. I'm gunna try that", and then whines because Nocternal requires his level four Argonian to become a level ten, or the Doomstone chants that enraging poem that it so does. I want to cause all that, and listen to Highway Star the whole way through! Grant me that, good friend! Grant me that, and I shall give up the ghost a happy man! Well, I'm 13, actually, so hopefully I wont give up the ghost very soon, eh? Yarharhar!
Added Leyawiin, because, well, its in Blackwood, and is the major city of the swamps, innit? Its not Blackwood without Leyawiin. I hope there isn't a reason why not to put Leywiin in, is there? It would save people from wondering if theres two Is or two Ns, or if its spelt Layawen, all of which I've been confused by... I hope I'm not messing this page up too much, am I? I mean, I did bring about the idea to put in the template, that was good, wasn't it? Even if it took me five hours (and a lot of Deep Purple) to make the blasted thing only to have it obliterated, I still contributed that much, didn't I? I'm not a waste, am I? Help a guy out, haha.
Your circumlocution is potentially discombobulating yet less than irrelevant. In other words: No you're not a waste but a bit of practice before diving in would be a good idea, methinks. --RpehTCE 18:04, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
Ah, well, yes. Circumlocution would be, wouldn't it? I suppose that, more or less, reffering to the paragraph about romans and that guy, eh? Yeah, well, its a tendancy, haha. I'll try and weed that out... (No hiding from you, I used a dictionary to work out those words, haha). Also: Yes, practise. I know. Thats another tendancy: I dislike the hours of practise it takes to get good at things, and I ususally live by the motto "Learn by Doing", though I often quote "Practise makes Perfect", which, inevitably, cancel each other out. I suppose I fall between the two of them, leaning farther towards the "Learn by doing" side of things; I practise by doing. If I fail, its kind of a mix of "What did I do wrong" and "Ahh, screw it", which is problematic for the people who face the consiquences, eh?
Also, you (Rpeh), know of my quest plan, right? Would this be sufficient for the first four in the table, or should I change things? Maybe make it less of a table, new links? I mean, I need practise, but the help files are a little... Indirect, I suppose. For example, it doesn't tell me how to keep the enter button's use after pressing it. So:
Quest Quest Giver Faction Reward Followers
Oblivion Lerexus Callidus None Levelled Gold None
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Guards Shield, become a Knight Errant Mazoga the Orc
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Oppertunity to become a Knigt-Errant Mazoga the Orc
Oblivion Mazoga the Orc Knights of the White Stallion 100 Septims for each Black Bow None

Is that fine to start out with? Obviously, I'll have to arrange the Mazoga the Orc trilogy in chronological order, and more should be added, of course - we're detailing all the quests in blackwood not just four around Leyawiin, and hopefully I wont be the only person contributing to the table, because I don't know all the quests in Blackwood - very few people do, really. Unless you've completed all of them or read up on them for a long time here. Also: Should "Prerequisite Quest" and "Next Quest" be added, or replace "Followers"? Because very few quests have followers.

A prievew of all three ideas, with those four quests in light:

Quest Quest Giver Faction Reward Followers
Oblivion Lerexus Callidus None Levelled Gold None
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Guards Shield, become a Knight Errant Mazoga the Orc
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Oppertunity to become a Knigt-Errant Mazoga the Orc
Oblivion Mazoga the Orc Knights of the White Stallion 100 Septims for each Black Bow None
Quest Quest Giver Faction Reward Followers Last Quest Next Quest!
Oblivion Lerexus Callidus None Levelled Gold None None None
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Guards Shield, become a Knight Errant Mazoga the Orc Mazoga the Orc Black Bow Bandits
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Oppertunity to become a Knigt-Errant Mazoga the Orc None Knights of the White Stallion
Oblivion Mazoga the Orc Knights of the White Stallion 100 Septims for each Black Bow None Knights of the White Stallion None
Quest Quest Giver Faction Reward Last Quest Next Quest!
Oblivion Lerexus Callidus None Levelled Gold None None
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Guards Shield, become a Knight Errant Mazoga the Orc Black Bow Bandits
Oblivion Count Marius Caro None Oppertunity to become a Knigt-Errant None Knights of the White Stallion
Oblivion Mazoga the Orc Knights of the White Stallion 100 Septims for each Black Bow Knights of the White Stallion None

Note: I used Last Quest instead of Prerequisite Quest, because its getting late where I am, and its only an example. I have to say I'm in favour of the first, because its much more tight, collected, and you don't need to know about the Next and Last quests. You may want the origional, without the "Followers" list, that could be preferable, but it would have little use, because it already doesn't take up much work and the more information the better - it may be more preferable for Blackwood-living fighting-party builders, than simply checking the Followers list.

Well, thanks to the floods of advice (grunt), I've decided to go with the origional one, 'cause its Pretty. KarKing Jack 16:41, 3 November 2007 (EDT)

Geography[edit]

Why is Tidewater Cave not listed under caves? Also, when I came out of Tidewater Cave, I walked down to the south beach and looked out across Topal Bay, and saw a landmass. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was. --Twentyfists 15:34, 20 March 2008 (EDT)

1) Tidewater Cave is in [[:Category:Oblivion-Places-Topal Bay]]. 2) Probably Elsweyr - look at the map. –RpehTCE 20:20, 20 March 2008 (EDT)
I suppose that make sense. And the landmass could be Elsweyr, but there also seems to be an island that is part of Cyrodiil on the map. Thanks. --Twentyfists 21:26, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
Tidewater Cave is now in Category:Oblivion-Places-Blackwood and the old category has been deleted so I commented out the old link. –RpehTCE 02:01, 30 October 2008 (EDT)

Nirnroot[edit]

I was looking at the Oblivion Nirnroot page, and by the looks of it, it seems the Blackwood region contains the largest quantity of Nirnroots. Before I add this to the main page, could I have some verification stating that this is true, plz? — Unsigned comment by Kharwog (talkcontribs) at 21:21 on 15 June 2013
