Resist Normal Weapons[edit]

Do the Blind Moth Priests have a resist normal weapons ability, or is it an ingrained feature in their robes? It's just that I observed an enchantment effect similar to resist normal weapons whilst fighting them. --Merco 15:55, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

I wouldn't think so. From what I remember, the robes are just normal. Yet again, someone here probably has some more info about it. --M1SSYF1V3 16:08, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

The Blind Moth Priests have the Monk Birthsign (AbBirthsignMonk), which gives them the Resist Normal Weapons ability (20%, if I'm reading this correctly). –Eshetalk16:51, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

shouldnt it say this on the page? Diobern 15:34, 7 November 2008 (EST)

Books[edit]

If i have understood this correctly they're blind... which means they can't read. Pretty weird that you cant find alot of books on them...

They are tended to by monks, the books probably belong to them.--201.3.190.83 05:09, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Not considered innocent[edit]

I just noticed that killing them doesn't count towards the in-game murder counter. They're treated just like bandits, wild vampires, necromancers, etc. Ghost2

Any hostile NPC who attacks you first will not be counted as a murder. -DevotedInsanity 00:12, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
The Moth Priests are in the Moth Priests faction, which is marked as "Evil". Any "Evil" faction doesn't cause a bounty even if you attack first. rpeh •TCE 15:09, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
To clarify, this is only counts if a given Actor is only in Evil factions, as soon as they are in a single non-evil faction they cause a bounty. Jadrax 12:14, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Respawning Rings from the Prelate?[edit]

If I recall from an Oblivion play-through years ago, at high levels you can kill and loot the Blind Moth Prelate in the lowest chamber again and again, allowing multiple finds of the Mundane/ Ring(s) of Perfection with no Infamy or fines cost. You need to exit the room and wait a certain amount of time (longer than 24 hours), but the Prelate is, ummm... shall we say re-elected and re-equipped, ready for another assassination. Was this a bug that has been fixed? If it is still possible it could be noted, because two Mundane rings are worth wearing...

-Guest.

It is not a bug, althought doing that can be considered an exploit.
Every enemy that is not unique or from a one time event will respawn after 72 in-game hours. (3 days)
Two identical rings cannot be equiped together.--Wizy 11:31, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Attacks on sight.[edit]

Shouldn't it be rendered attacks on "sight" for all instances it is used in the article?--67.8.22.167 06:04, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Blind Moth Priests and the undead faction[edit]

Isn't it weird that some of the blind moth priests are in the faction of the undead? I mean they are just blind and carry weapons, but what is that something that makes them undead? If anyone can explain this please share it. — Unsigned comment by 79.167.180.137 (talk) on 31 July 2011

It's to stop the priests and undead fighting each other in that one location of the temple where they both exist. rpeh •TCE 09:17, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

The priests being hostile to each other[edit]

In this video, the Blind Moth Priests are shown to be attacking each other for what appears to be no reason. Has anyone been able to replicate this and if so, can anyone figure out why it happens? 47.18.96.45 01:51, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

They accidentally attacked each other while attempting to kill the Adoring Fan, triggering a fight to the death. This is commonly seen in Oblivion, although usually with archers. —Legoless (talk) 10:51, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
Never knew NPC infighting was a thing. I thought it was a special property of their blindness. 47.18.96.45 13:17, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
It's most often observed between Imperial Legion Foresters. We have a screenshot of the phenomenon on that page. It's also one of the dangers with bringing a large amount of followers around with you, as they are bound to start a fight at some stage. —Legoless (talk) 13:23, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
