[edit] Rowley Glitches

In my most recent game, Rowley Eardwulf has other items for sale, but not the Deepscorn Hollow upgrades! Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know if there's anything I can do? I'm thinking it may have been caused by bartering with Rowley before I got the quest update telling me he sold the upgrades. Can anyone corroborate? Should we post a warning on The Vile Lair page? BTW, I am playing on XBOX360.

I ran into this problem too, actually, and just fixed it. I was on 360, and ran over to some area away from Deepscorn, and saved the game. I then deleted the plugin, and reloaded my file. I saved again, redownloaded the plugin, and started up the game, holding A to clear the cache. The quest ran perfectly fine for me. 3/18/07

There was a bug in my game that caused the raiment to disapear when I placed it back into the armoire, and the object codes on this page did not work for me, does anyone have any ideas as to how to get it back? swiminatortalk 8/8/06

Look at the ID code of the raiment. The second digit (usually a 0 in the editor) changes, depending on the order of the plugin file. Try it several times by changing that digit in the player.additem console command. Remember, these are hexadecimal codes, so you'll have to try it running from 1 to 9, and if that doesn't do it, try A, B, C, D, E, and F. QuillanTalk 09:23, 8 August 2006 (EDT)
It worked! Thanks a lot swiminatortalk 8/8/06

My Rowley has nothing for sale, it is the same with the lady from Frostcrag Spire, any ideas?

Did you happen to speak with Rowley or Aurelinwae before receiving the quest updates that tell you to purchase upgrades for the homes from them? I've found that this happens to me if I speak with them before receiving the corresponding quest update. GuildKnight 18:06, 19 November 2006 (EST)
I've had the same problem. Would manually adding the deeds do the job? And if so, does anyone know the item IDs? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.38.248.159 (talkcontribs).
One thing you might want to try is uninstalling the mod, opening your most recent save (you'll get a warning about missing game content), saving, then reinstalling the mod. This will completely restart the quest. Since you haven't bought anything yet, you won't lose any money or other perks; all you'll have to do is travel back to Deepscorn Hollow one extra time. This time, be sure not to talk to Rowley until after you've read Greywyn's Journal. It's probably alot easier than any other type of fix (and you'll probably get some better loot as a result, too; see Leveled Items further down the page).
If you try this and it does work, I'd like to hear about it. If you could confirm it's a workable fix, then it could be added to the main page so others can use it too. Thanks! --Nephele 01:00, 5 January 2007 (EST)

No i havent, the theives cove one works, though

"I made sure to not speak to him until I got the quest saying he has what I need, and he still doesn't have the items for sale. Only a few enchanted items and random weapons. Any Ideas?? I tried uninstalling and restarting the quest... twice. I also tried uninstalling, and loading an older save, then installing and going straight to the hollow, I got the journal, it suggests I speak to Rowley, I go there and he STILL doesn't have anything but a few weapons." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.201.21.248 (talkcontribs).

Do you have any other mods installed that might be interfering? If you've installed other mods (especially non-Bethesda mods), you might want to try running the game without any of them loading just to see what happens in that case. There are other cases where making sure that the official mod loads after any other mods was necessary to get it to work properly. --Nephele 03:07, 3 February 2007 (EST)

I'm having a similar problem, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, disables extra mods etc. and still Rowley only displays a few magic item,s but no upgrades for the hollow. I have tried different times, and as I said been doing hte uninstall, save reinstall thing with no success. Is there a way to just add the things and get it maxed out or something?

I just wanted to add that you should only try to purchase Deepscorn items from Rowley after midnight. I had the problem of him not selling anything at all until then. --Aleth 12:34, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

Expanding on what Aleth said, you can only buy still from Rowley when he's sitting on the stairs. Tentacle 08:27, 13 May 2007 (EDT)

I've found the cause of Rowley not having the Deepscorn upgrade items available. It has nothing to do with bartering with hm before going there. It's a quest bug... the player has to get the quest popup that they have arrived at Deepscorn when they get there. This quest stage enables the merchant chest for the upgrades and assigns it to Rowley. The problem is that the range from the map marker that the quest checks for is too small. The player can go into the underwater entrance without triggering the popup. No popup, no upgrade items. I will be updating the main page with this and a workaround. I will put it under the Bugs at the bottom. Kivan 11:11, 17 June 2007 (EDT)

My Rowley won't sell anything and i really want to have the house i there any thing some one can help ne with i have it on the 360 If someone can help please e mail me at matt_aaron14@hotmail.com

Pretty much everything that can possibly be said about this issue is covered in the preceding discussion and in the article (e.g., Bugs). I'm not sure what you think needs to be repeated yet again or what is not clear about the existing suggestions. --NepheleTalk 00:36, 22 August 2007 (EDT)

[edit] I have this quest completed

But it's still a current quest and I have upgraded everything.--ShakenMike 17:03, 16 March 2007 (EDT)

Are you sure you purchased all upgrades and the Ichor of Sithis from Rowley Eardwulf? --GuildKnight | Talk (contribs) 17:13, 16 March 2007 (EDT)

I'll check it then thanks.I might need one more thing.--ShakenMike 19:48, 16 March 2007 (EDT)

I think the quest complete itself when you pour the Ichor of Sithis into the altar. Tentacle 17:45, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
