Azani Blackheart[edit]

Can someone please change the Azani Blackheart (quest) under Modryn Oreyn's Quests to show just Azani Blackheart, without the "(quest)"? Have tried to but it doesn't seem to work. --Andi kan 03:05, 25 August 2006 (EDT)

Done. It actually wasn't possible until just now, but now I've modified the template to allow for cases like this. --Nephele 10:57, 25 August 2006 (EDT)

Advancement[edit]

Does anyone know the specifics of when you receive advancement in each of the factions? I think that would be a very useful bit of info to add to the faction pages. --GuildKnight 13:51, 3 December 2006 (EST)

The article says "training, goods, and services are cheaper for members" which may be true in Tamriel, but not in the game of Oblivion - well, may be for the other counts, but training certainly isn't. Correct? I propose this notion to be made. --FMan | Talk | http://www.fooman.fi/ 20:56, 15 January 2007 (EST)

Yep, training definitely isn't any cheaper for members. Goods and services aren't really any cheaper, either. There are a couple merchants who are fighters guild members, so you might be able to buy something more cheaply from them as a member, because of the disposition boost. But there are other ways to get just as a good deal, without being a member, so it's not much of a membership perk. --Nephele 01:34, 16 January 2007 (EST)

Master problem with choices[edit]

How long until I get paid by my secon in command?

I did the whole fighter guild within one day and now I still have two more guilds to go but they're very hard to do.--ShakenMike 22:49, 4 March 2007 (EST)

Are you asking when you get your monthly salary? Check out the Advantages section of the Fighters Guild page. --GuildKnight 22:56, 4 March 2007 (EST)

Ok thanks and I'm not sure I chose the right option(I pick both recruit and other options)

I also a master in the mage guild as well.--ShakenMike 00:10, 5 March 2007 (EST)

anyone know if there is anything else you can get due to your choices like more actuall characters in the guild or at least what determins your salary?

Demotion[edit]

This page states that you will be demoted after completing "The Trolls of Forsaken Mine" quest, however the quest page it self states "If next you speak to Azzan for more contracts after completing this quest, you'll be demoted to Defender and Modryn Oreyn will be expelled from the Fighters Guild. This is avoidable by talking to Burz gro-Khash, however Oreyn will still be expelled. Either way leads to Modryn's next quest for you, available after you complete another contract for either Azzan or Burz gro-Khash."

I can't test this tonight, can anyone else tell me which is true? Grandmaster z0b 23:58, 25 March 2007 (EDT)

Well I did test it by finishing "The Trolls of Forsaken Mine" and then talking to Burz gro-Khash and I didn't get demoted, however I haven't spoken to Azzan yet so I cannot confirm this 100%. Grandmaster z0b 20:05, 28 March 2007 (EDT)
If you talk to Burz first, he will not demote you, but he will promote you after comleting his quest. If you talk to Azzan after that, you will not get demoted. Modryn is cast out anyway.--LordDagon 11:15, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

Payment[edit]

For the item payments of the guildmaster dose the game have a list of different items it chooses one from? Or dose it pick one out of every item in the game? Marleysexton 13:44, 26 February 2008 (EST)

The game picks the items from a special list:
Depending on the order you gave as Guildmaster you have the following chances:
  • Recruits: 0 - 500 gold + 30% for 1 item, 20% for 2 items and 10% for 3 items.
  • Contracts: 0 - 2000 gold + 10% for 1 item.
  • Balanced: 0 - 1000 gold + 20% for 1 item.
This means that the reward is quite random. --Timenn < talk > 11:11, 4 March 2008 (EST)

Guildmaster's Chest[edit]

Not that this is that important, but is the Guildmaster's Chest a safe storage container. If so (or even if not) we should add this to the page. — Unsigned comment by Herkron (talkcontribs)

The Guildmaster's Chest is a safe container. I put an item in that chest, the other chest on the top floor of the Guild and one of the chests in front of the beds. I waited 73 hours and they were all still there. Then I left the guild and went over to the Mage's guild and waited for another 73 hours. I went and checked the chests again, and they all reset except for the Guildmaster's one. It's safe, and this should be indicated on the page, as well as added to the list of Quest Related safe chests. However, I'm not sure what happens when you receive items. It probably won't change anything, but it may remove all the items in the chest. I haven't tested this though, so use at your own risk. --SammoSammy 09:22, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Fighter's Guild Conflict[edit]

Hi, I’ve had Oblivion for about 4 months now, but I seem to have run into a problem. After completing the Fighter’s Guild quest, Trolls of the Forsaken Mine, I went to Burz gro-Khash instead of Azzan to avoid being demoted, as stated on the page, and I completed The Noble’s Daughter and Mystery At Harlum’s Watch. Afterwards, I went to Azzan, and he wouldn’t give me any quests. This is my problem. I can no longer advance any further in the guild because of this. I have tried speaking with Burz gro-Khash, Modyrn Oreyn, and the guildmaster but nothing happened. Unfortunately, I could not reload because I had saved to the point where if I had to load a previous file, I would be level 4 instead of level 15. (I have even been kicked out of the guild, gotten back in, and spoken to Azzan but it was still the same)

Has this ever occurred to anyone before, and can I possibly fix it. Thank you for your time and consideration. — Unsigned comment by Cj The Ass Hunter (talkcontribs)

I can understand your reasoning to moving my problem to it's correct location, but I feel that by putting it there, it is not being stressed enough. Maybe I'm being impatient, but I just want a response acknowledging my problem, even if it is brief....— Unsigned comment by Cj The Ass Hunter (talkcontribs)
Then you should post to a forum or a chat room, not the wiki, and certainly not the wiki owner's page. His primary function here is to perform administrative tasks on the wiki, not to play the games or answer questions (though he may or may not actually do so, of course). --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 16:38, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
There is only one logical way to fix this thing, I have got the same problem in my game, it would be to promote ourselves through Console Commands, I just have no idea how to use the Console to promote within the guild... Me again: just found out the command: Player.SetFactionRank 2228F 7 — Unsigned comment by 187.37.54.205 (talk) at 17:27 on 20 September 2010
Yeah, I think that should work on the PC to bypass the problem and allow you to advance. The XBox/PS3 players won't have that option and would have to reload and do things in the required order. Robin Hoodtalk 21:20, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Redundancy?[edit]

This is true of all the guilds in Oblivion, if I'm not mistaken, but listing all the ranks and providing the list of ranks off to the right seems redundant. Especially since the list of rankings is sort of out-of-place and awkward. Anybody else agree? 22:30, 9 August 2008 (EDT)

Not really. The list on the right is largely decorative and the list in the page allows a description of the tasks necessary to advance. I think it's fine. –RpehTCE 04:12, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
Actually, there was a third listing of the ranks which I agree was redundant, so I've deleted it. --NepheleTalk 10:08, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
Ah. I didn't see those. Yes - I'd agree those weren't needed. –RpehTCE 10:25, 10 August 2008 (EDT)

Quests After Demotion[edit]

(moved from the article)

If the missions are done in this order on the Xbox 360, you will be unable to continue the Fighters Guild questline as Azzan wont give you your next quest (Stone of St. Alessia), he merely tells you that you have been demoted (which Burz gro-Khash has already told you if taken this method)

This was added a few days ago, then somebody just answered the VN I added before removing it totally. Personally, I think that if there really was a glitch this big in the FG quests, we'd have heard about it before now. I'm taking this off until we can get more information. rpeh •TCE 21:13, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
i ran across this issue on PC. the stone of st alessia is available for rank guardian and defender, in case you get demoted. it appears that if you are at rank warder and don't ask for a promotion to guardian soon enough then once Oreyn gets kicked out of the Guild for trolls of the forsaken mine incident and sulks around his house and won't promote you, Azzan and Burz won't promote you either since you are supposed to get demotion from guardian down to defender. you can go on and do the last Burz quests, but won't get the Stone of st. Alessia quest from Azzan because the game assumes you should either be a defender if demoted or guardian if demoted to start this quest. as a result no guest giver will either promote you nor give quests. i resolved the problem by self righteously promoting myself to guardian with console command Player.SetFactionRank 2228F 7, which opened up the dialogue option to start the stone of st. alessia with azzan — Unsigned comment by ‎ 90.191.169.156 (talk) at 13:51 on 16 November 2013
somethimes the idea of demotion is worrying, so when people talk to burz first after Trolls of Forsaken Mine as mentioned in the :notes "If you first speak to Azzan for more contracts after completing this quest, you will be demoted to Defender. You will regain :your rank after completing two more Fighters Guild quests. Demotion is avoidable by talking to Burz gro-Khash and completing his :two quests first" it is putting people into a situation where there save bugs and they cannot continue the quest chain as azzan :wont offer any contracts or advancement90.207.122.22 11:32, 7 March 2014 (GMT)
Looks like this may be problematic, since you're not the first person to say this. I'll add a bit to the article. --Xyzzy Talk 12:31, 7 March 2014 (GMT)

Icon of the Guild[edit]

Where did you get this icon from top of the article? I never seen it before. - ZuTheSkunk 21:40, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Err... I don't know. I can't find it anywhere in the game textures. rpeh •TCE 08:44, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
It's taken from Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa\textures\menus\stats\stat_fact_icon_fighters_guild_1.dds. I don't believe that's used anywhere in-game. Robin Hoodtalk 09:07, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Guild members[edit]

Is it possible to take a few members of the guild and do stuff like go into caves? Or is it possible to still receive and do contracts with other guilds man? — Unsigned comment by Jamz slack (talkcontribs) at 23:16 on 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately the Fighters Guild does not provide any followers besides during quests. You can however still perform quests for other guilds without anyone batting an eyelash. --AKB Talk 23:16, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

New Guildmembers[edit]

At Guildmaster rank, if you tell your second-in-command to focus on recruitment, do any new guildmembers actually turn up? — Unsigned comment by 86.139.116.71 (talk) on 17 July 2011

Nope. Just the cash. rpeh •TCE 14:59, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Strange bug[edit]

Ok so I had just completed a Fighters Guild quest and went to Azzan to get my next quest. However, when I talked to one of my brothers I was told I stole from the guild, even though I didn't! Can someone tell my how to fix this? I reloaded a earlier save but that didn't work. — Unsigned comment by 96.245.56.83 (talk) on 1 June 2013, 22:14

If reloading your save didn't work, you might have to bite the bullet and do the forgiveness quest. ThuumofReason (talk) 22:22, 1 June 2013 (GMT)

Can't Advance To Master Rank[edit]

Ok, so I wanted to complete oblivion in the quickest time possible due to a contest that my buds made up. The rules were to do anything as long as it doesn't involve physical contact with other contestants. The rule was to get the highest rank possible on every faction joinable, complete the main quest, get EVERY single item in the game, complete all quest that can be completed, own all houses etc. etc.

So this is the problem. Remember the rules said to do ANYTHING but physical contact right? So I and a few other guys cheated and advanced throughout the quests one by one ( you must have all the quests stages RECORDED as proof of completion) and I have cheated a little with the very last quest in the fighters guild questlinebut in order to advance to master in the guild you must go to the stage right before the part where you ask the guild master for it, then you ask the guild master for it. Problem is, I can't get the option from her to tell her about the hits tree being destroyed. All I get is the two options: "Chorrol" and "Rumors" I tried killing her, getting kicked out and rejoining, spawned More of her and asked every single one, loading a save, quick saving and immediately dying (this sometimes have a different effect than just loading another save), cheating to the next stage and other stuff that I forgot. Is there anyway I can access the game files or is there a secret cheat code that can advance your rank? I only want my rank to advance, anything as long as my rank will become Master. I don't need anything else.
