Putting items into display cases.[edit]

Hi there, I have just bought the house in Skingrad with the display cases. I dont know how to put items inside them, i tried throwing them and telekenisis but it doesnt work. Does anyone have any solution?? Vuki27 00:48, 17 March 2009 (EDT)

if you use xbox 360, use the left bumper, while you have your crosshairs on the item you would like to move, and then move it with your analog stick, and you're good to go ^.^

dropped items[edit]

I think the information about dropping items and manipulating items around in the game world should be here, or at least linked from here in an obvious and easy to find way. I will give the page a few more looks though.

Its simple. Either hold shift and click on an item, or hold the left mouse button down on the item for a few seconds. If theres not enough room to drop an item, using the first method will drop it randomly near you. If there is enough room, you'll be able to start off holding the item, rather than letting it fall. 96.28.157.126 06:51, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Removing Quest Related Items From Your Inventory[edit]

Comment moved from User talk:DavehEshetalk 17:12, 16 June 2009 (EDT)

I have tried everything I can think of and I have looked everywhere on the internet, but I cant seem to find a solution. How do you remove quest related items, from your inventory, on the Xbox 360 version of TESIV: Oblivion GOTY?

Please help.

There is no way to remove quest items from your inventory on the Xbox 360. My only suggestions are to either complete the quest associated with the item, or, if you've already done the quest, take note of which items are still marked as quest-specific and start a new game. Some of the guilds can't be completed without contracting permanent quest items, such as Thieves guild and Mages guild.

Item renaming?[edit]

Is there any way to rename an already-enchanted item? I want to rename an item I enchanted earlier on. I have it on the PC, so I can use console commands, if need be. — Unsigned comment by 173.23.82.180 (talk) at 20:39 on 20 July 2009 (UTC)

is there an easy way to kill somebody (in a house, inside a city), and not getting arrested for it?[edit]

Effects of Apparel on Magic[edit]

The Armor and Clothing articles don't mention their effects on magic power clearly. It took me way too long to figure out that armor makes magic weaker. I know it's more complicated than that, but it is an important thing to know when developing a character. I'd edit them myself, but I like to ask before I move stuff arround. Can I add "Your Spell Effectiveness will be reduced if you wear armor." to the articles? --Zander490 17:02, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

It's already mentioned in the Magic Overview article and in the game manual itself. It might not hurt to have it in the Armor and Clothing articles as well, but others may disagree. The best way to find out for something minor like that is usually just to add it and see if it gets reverted. Robin Hoodtalk 19:35, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
I only added it to the Armor page for now. It didn't look right in the clothing article. --Zander490 19:14, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Sounds good. Robin Hoodtalk 17:09, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

<Missing Name> Item?[edit]

I was in the Shivering Isles a few weeks ago and was doing the "Search a Corrupted Clone" glitch and found an odd item in the Misc. category named "<Missing Name>"? The icon for it was a completely greenish-yellowish box, I didn't want to pick it up and break my game or anything, I'm on the Xbox 360 and I've heard very little about it, like it's some kind of missing mesh or error or something and if you drop it your Xbox 360 crashes, not many videos on it or anything, I just thought it would be worth bringing up, anyone else come across this? --Dremora Lord 17:44, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

it's a known glitch. go see the glicht page thing for a way to get rid of it :)--GUM!!! 17:47, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Or if you can't find the glicht page, try the Glitches page. rpeh •TCE 20:49, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, couldn't find any pages under "glicht", thanks for the link and info Rpeh/GUM!!!, oh yeah and also I didn't pick it up, would be interesting to Hotkey the item and see what happens...you'd run around as a giant looking piece of cheese, Sheogorath would probably eat me if that happened xD --Dremora Lord 12:24, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Can't you also find it on that one chick in the mages guild----Candc4, Also known as the Man Inside the Sexy Leather Pants CT 20:55, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

item costs[edit]

Why do so many items have wildly different costs between the game and the CS? The Base Ring of Fire Shield, for example, is listed here as being worth 705, but in the CS, it's listed as only 5! The Base Ring of Fire is at its heart a brass ring, and the brass ring is also listed at 5, so does the CS only list the value for the base item as opposed to the item itself, or what? And is there any way to find the proper value in the CS, or do you have to actually go into the game and look at the item? — Unsigned comment by 69.249.24.50 (talk) at 11:26 on 9 November 2012

The ring in the CS only includes the base cost of the item, not the enchantment that's on it. The Barter Factor for Fire Shield is 100 septims, so at 7%, that means that the total value of the enchantment is 700 septims. Add in the 5 septim base value and there's your 705 septims. As far as I know, there's no easy way to find that in the CS other than looking at all the various info and doing the math. (Though looking here on the site is usually faster.)
