=== Oblivion ===

If one goes to far enough past the lava inside of an Oblivion Gate, one will fall into a never ending plane of nothingness.

I do not think of this as a glitch. A glitch is some sort of problem, but this is intentional. You cannot have infiltrate space in a world, as that would take huge amounts of space. Also, I don't see how it is problematic. --DKong27 Talk Cont 00:47, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Try it yourself trust me I'm telling the truth--Candc4 01:10, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
He didn't claim that you weren't telling the truth, he was arguing over its status as a glitch. I however would support its inclusion as if you went past the end of the world you will fall into nothingness and be stuck, requiring you to reload or somehow get back up. If nothing else there is (Or used to be, I can't find it right now) a section for things that appear to be glitches, but aren't. This is unless there are the "You can not go this way. Go back." borders around the island in Oblivion (I play with borders off so I wouldn't know), then I would say that Dkong is right, this isn't a glitch as it is pretty much impossible for the game-world to go on forever. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:26, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
and it is not nothingness, its more of any empty expanse of gray textured ground spanning in what seems to be a infinite loop also random groups of floating lava that if you walk under the screen turns red like you are swimming in lava, and in Oblivion there does not seem to be an You can not go this way. Go back. on the Xbox 360 version anyway, my thoughts on why is because that lava was supposed to kill you, to achieve this without console one most drink 4 health potions made at master level alchemy level, and an expert level alchemy supply's or higher. I also agree it is not problematic, but on the same token it still needs mentioning.--Candc4 20:11, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
Mention it on the individual worlds' pages, if you must. It's not a glitch, it's an exploit. You're not "supposed" to get past the lava barrier, and it won't cause problems for anyone who doesn't go looking for it. Legoless 21:28, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
The Glitches that aren't glitches thing remains in it's original section, Oblivion:Minor Glitches. The loot bags are still the only entry. I wanted to get rid of the section entirely and move loot bags but didn't want to do it without some consensus. Datacaust 16:36, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
I wouldn't call it an exploit unless it can be proven there is some benefit to doing it. Also I don't think this is specific to Oblivion planes the same sort of thing happens in the frostcrag spire test world. I never found an end or border, maybe drinking tons of skooma and going for a run? Not sure where this should go. If anywhere. Datacaust 17:45, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
All worlds have an end, although it will likely take you hours to cross the void and I'm not sure what would happen if you did reach it. There's even some glitchy terrain in Tamriel, if you go past the borders for long enough. You seem to be taking the word 'exploit' in the wrong way. It means taking advantage of an oversight or bug (in this case, the lack of borders) to do something unintended (walk around outside the proper level). It is not directly a "glitch", because the empty space wasn't the result of a malfunction - it was just never worked upon. Legoless 17:59, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Another couple moved[edit]

Multiple Scripts Glitch
This glitch affects many aspects of the game, such as creating new enchanted items, potions and spells, and game scripts involving conjuration. If you get this glitch your experience of Oblivion may very well be turned upside-down. It is possible that this glitch is triggered by simply having played the game too long and advancing too far in the game by being too high a level, having many skills at high levels, doing many quests, etc. The overall performance of your computer may also be a factor, but this is unlikely. Therefore, this glitch can come into effect at any point in your game.

This might well be a glitch, but it doesn't say what it is or what happens. It sounds more like somebody had a bad experience and assumed it happens to everybody.

Destroying Magic Items
Enchanted weapons, armor, potions and spells that you create will be there for as long as you do not quit your game. Once you go back into the Oblivion main menu and restart your game the spell, potion or enchanted item will be gone. The only way to get them back is to load a file to before you created it. The item you used to enchant the weapon/armor with will also be destroyed unless it is Azura's Star, and you cannot get it back otherwise. The same applies to alchemical ingredients for potions. None of this applies to anything you created before the glitch came into effect.

Again, how does this happen? I've never seen anything like this in the hundreds of hours I've played. One-off glitches don't belong on this page. rpeh •TCE 09:40, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Finding the thieves guild cutscene[edit]

i moved this:

Finding the thieves guild cutscene

on the Ps3 if you ask about joining the thieves guild when the doyan walks away you will be stuck in the cutscene FOREVER. on pc you can fix it with a code. on console you need to go to a pre-save.

it needs confirmation, and it starts with "on ps3" then moves on to mention the P.C (From Fear to Eternity- Eddie The Head 13:15, 11 August 2011 (UTC))
You beat me to the undo. It's pretty clearly a one-off rather than a regular occurrence. Nobody else has ever reported this. rpeh •TCE 13:19, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

I have goten in the mages guild alot of times but when I get expeled a second time ramius will not except the ingedints no matter what — Unsigned comment by King of kavach (talkcontribs) at 18:41 on 2 January 2012

Try reading Mages Guild Suspension and see if that tells you anything. Specifically, read the last note in Bugs, in case it applies to you. Robin Hoodtalk 18:59, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

game crashes[edit]

Surely not new, but i did not find an entry about this. Examples: Finishing the quest Lost Histories i could not pass any of the Skingrad east gates (the one to the castle and the one to the road), the game crashes (while loading the cell i wanted to enter). (PC Version 1.2.0416) I have seen this several times. I reloaded previous savegames, tested the function of the gates and did this short quest again. Each time, after finishing the quest, the attempt of passing the gates leads to game crash. - But this is only an example, there were several situations like this. I think the savegames got corrupted, because reloading a previous savegame solved the problem in most cases. But not in the case of the above mentioned quest. So if other people made the same observations, this would be well worth integrating in the list of bugs/ glitches. --Dathor 10:45, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Blue Screen Problem[edit]

I have had my game for ages and it is the second time this has happened but I can't remember how I fixed it. The problem is I can see my information bars and weapon icons and health etc. but I can't see any of the actual game play, just the color of the sky (blue). I can hear everything, move about, use my equipment and the normal things EXCEPT seeing anything. i cannot see my players hands or weapon and I have tried messing with the video options, but to no avail. please help! Staff of the Everscamp Game Freezes[edit]

I would like to describe a glitch I have found. Scenario: I would go everywhere with the Staff of the Everscamp, since some foes will target the scamps instead of my character. I found in certain Ayleid Ruins, if you find one of those traps which surround you with four walls and emit gas, then if an everscamp dies within this trap, when it comes back to life it will freeze the game. I don't know if this occurs in other situations; this is merely what I have found. Apologies for if my explanation is poorly worded. I was able to reproduce this glitch multiple times, using the XBox 360 version. Signed, loudwhitenoise. — Unsigned comment by 101.119.16.121 (talk) at 11:45 on 4 January 2014

This belongs to the Bugs section on the Staff of the Everscamp page, where it is already mentioned. Also please sign your posts by typing ~~~~. -- SarthesArai Talk 15:20, 4 January 2014 (GMT)

some unmentioned[edit]

On my current playthrough (XboxONE)

1. SHIVERING ISLES Haskill can't be found after defeating the gatekeeper.

2. Fighters Stronghold: Not sure if unique to this area but: in the safe storage when you instantly turn left after entering the castle items dissapear after being out into the chest / crates. The storage did contain a lot of items - I was using the chest to store all of the enchanted items I had picked up, plus usual supply items - repair hammers filled soul gems etc. And the crates one was filled with junk the other with all the random weapons and armour I had got from my enemies. This started happening at lvl 44 so they were pretty full, maybe too much for the cell to handle?

3. Fighters stronghold: the blacksmith has dialogue to be invested in as a shopkeeper for 500 with sufficient Mercantile level, but no shopkeeper dialogue button. — Unsigned comment by 92.233.190.161 (talk) at 02:11 on 19 August 2021 (UTC)

I can't comment on (1) since I don't have SI and can't find any information about this bug, but (2) is most likely the Items Disappearing from Containers glitch noted on the Minor Glitches page, while (3) is noted on the NPC's page and isn't a Problematic glitch as it doesn't prevent further gameplay; it's a minor inconvenience at best. — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:50, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
