Oblivion talk:Stunted Magicka

I dont think the "if you were to download a mod" part is appropriate. If we allowed for hints in all hypothetical mods we would have a big mess on our hands. Herkron 22:10, 6 April 2008 (EDT)
- Quite right. Removed. You're allowed to make changes yourself though! –Rpeh•T•C•E• 01:43, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

- Thanks, but I am just trying to get used to UESP. I think I got the ropes now.Herkron 15:23, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
[edit] Effect Cost
- (moved from the article)
- Though Stunted Magicka has a Base Cost of 0, the Magicka Vortex from the Spell Tomes DLC treats the Stunted Magicka effect as if it had a Base Cost of 0.77.
-
- This doesn't seem to be correct. The cost for the Stunted Magicka effect in that spell is listed as 0, and removing it from the spell has no effect on the spell cost. Where did you get the figure of 0.77? –Rpeh•T•C•E• 03:19, 18 January 2009 (EST)
- I'm not DragoonWraith, but I can answer that one. That's what it says in the notes on the spell tomes page (handily linked to in the text you moved). --Gaebrial 07:33, 19 January 2009 (EST)
- Ah yes. Err... good spot. Except I don't think that's right either. You don't just divide cost by duration to get base cost. A simple example is that the Absorb Magicka effect in Leech Vitality costs 34 for a 20 magnitude and 0 duration; that's from a known base of 7.5. I think this is yet another thing the needs a little more research - unless I've also missed the cost formula; the Magic Overview page doesn't seem to cover it. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 12:15, 19 January 2009 (EST)
- See Oblivion:Spell Making#Spell Cost; you do simply divide by duration. --NepheleTalk 13:08, 19 January 2009 (EST)

[edit] Subject to Weakness to Magic?
Is this spell's duration amplified by Weakness to Magic? Magicka vortex spell stunts the magicka regeneration for 30 sec. I wonder if this could be amplified by casting Weakness to Magic before casting the vortex spell WRFan 21:10, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- According to Weakness to Magic, the spell amplifies any subsequent offensive spell effect. Since Stunted Magicka qualifies, I don't see any reason why the effect time wouldn't be extended. Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs,E-mail) 22:07, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
