--- Although the dungeon is quite impressive, you can (and I recomend not) skip the whole thing if you look for another entrance, a trap door in the bushes to the left of the obvious one, opposite wall of where you enter the tower before going to "old wodden door to arkved's tower". I learned this 'cause this is the exit if you do it correctly. ---~xXJesterXx

---GZUS: Actualy, the trap door is not there, I have searched my self before entering the tower and it wasn't there at all, only by using the trap door in Arkved's room will the trap door spawn.

[edit] No Dialogue.

When I offered the Black Soulgems, I emidiatly got the quest, without the dialog of the Deadra(which of course is one of the coolest things of the Deadric quests) I think it had to do with Aymar Douar not being at the shrine. Since I had recruited him with Toasters. Altough I dismissed him for this particular quest, it didn't seem to work. So I figured he must be át the shrine before the dialogue cans tart. Can anyone confirm this?-Artfact

[edit] If you kill Arkved

Has anybody killed Arkved, then gone back to Vaermina? Does she still say he will "live out the rest of his days in nightmare"? I don't remember seeing anything about that when I did the various Daedric Quest lines, but it could be that any changes to the lines were made by some non-obvious method. I also no longer have the editor installed, so I can't check. :) --Robin Hood 16:19, 9 February 2008 (EST)

Yup. The dialogue is exactly the same. –RpehTCE 06:03, 10 February 2008 (EST)
Thanks, Rpeh. --Robin Hood 11:34, 10 February 2008 (EST)

[edit] Black Soul Gem

(Discussion moved to Oblivion talk:Black Soul Gem. Information is relevant for anyone looking for a soul gem, not just people on Vaermina's quest)

[edit] Just wondering...

...what happens if you use the Skull of Corruption on Arkved? Nifhelton 09:19, 29 June 2008 (EDT)

I presume that it would just create a clone of him as normal, though Arkved wouldn't be able to fight back.Bambobo 10:56, 29 June 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Where's the Walkthrough?

The detailed walkthrough, quite simply, sucks. It says nothing about the complexity of the fort's interior or about the zapping stones that take away half your health in one hit. There's nothing telling you how to get to the orb...I'm currently in the middle of doing it and I'm not much of a writer. But just pointing this out...68.205.103.233 20:48, 11 September 2008 (EDT)

There are quest arrows you could follow. They lead you to exactly where you need to be. But, if you don't want to use those, check out Oblivion:Arkved's Tower. It's the page for the actual tower itself. Darkle 21:45, 11 September 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Has anyone got this message?

After completing the quest, I got this message, under a seperate (immediately finished) quest "Daedric Intervention":

"By gaining Vaernima's favor, I now have the power to call upon the Daedric Princes to teleport me to safety, for a price of course."

I don't seem to have gained any greater powers. No idea what it does. Anyone have an idea? Could it have to do with the shivering isles? I just finished that questline before doing this one. --Krebdj 19:39, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

It must come from a mod. No such phrase in the standard game. –rpehTCE 19:43, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Makes sense. Couldn't find the phrase with a google search, oddly. COBL and Supreme Magicka are the biggest ones I use in case any one else sees the same thing and wonders. --Krebdj 21:04, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

I believe it's from Supreme Magicka. When you complete any of the Daedra Prince quests, you get that update and a lesser (I think) power added to your spell list. If you cast it, you are teleported to the nearest daedric shrine, but lose some health. --Gaebrial 06:39, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Count Hassildor?

Weirdest thing that has happened to me in the game so far, after going through Arkved's dungeon - right when I'm in his room, trying to decide if I would get anything or lose anything for killing him, Count Hassildor came walking in through the door I entered from, spoke to me briefly, then exited out the a different door. I'm running the original release of Oblivion off an original ps3, no mods, no plug ins, no DLC, no game of the year edition. Anyone else have this happen? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 97.115.32.175 (talkcontribs) on 11 August 2009.

Count Hassildor is involved in multiple quests. Could you tell us what he said to you, so we can identify which quest was involved? --Timenn-<talk> 09:05, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
