Feyne Vildan

Feyne Vildan is a Dark Elf found in the settlement of Percolating Mire. She is the daughter of a former slaveowner in Narsis, and the wife of Ja-Reet, a former Argonian slave. Their relationship began while Ja-Reet was still enslaved (much to her father's disapproval), and they were married at some point after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact and the emancipation of the Argonian people.

Into the Mire[edit]

As you approach the mire, you'll see a young Dunmer sitting by a campfire by the west side of the village or lingering around the south side. She'll hail you as you near:

"Thank the Three, someone who looks like they can handle themselves in a fight!
My husband's in danger. Please, help us!
What's wrong?
"The Dominion invaded. They trapped my husband, Ja-Reet, along with the other villagers.
I hid and got out past the guards, but I won't leave without my husband!"
How can I help?
"Those soldiers are terrorizing our people. Kill them! Rescue everyone you can, and please look for Ja-Reet.
I don't know what the Dominion's doing here, but they said something about crystals. I'll sneak back in. Meet me near the village center."
I'll do what I can.

If you agree to help her, she'll talk more about why her husband is at the village:

"They didn't expect to see a Dunmer, so I made sure they didn't. I can be stealthy at need."
What's your husband doing here?
"He was born to slaves in Vvardenfell. And yes, he's Argonian, but he's different. Distant. Haunted. Listens to words more than meaning. But he's my husband, and I love him.
The tree-minder lured him here."
Why did the tree-minder do that? / Why did the tree-minder lure your husband here?
"The tree-minder said Argonians born away from the Hist are damaged, but they can be healed by some sort of ritual to join them with a Hist.
I don't know. I don't want them to change Ja-Reet. And why does the Dominion want him... or the others?"
You said the invaders mentioned crystals.
"Yes, though I didn't catch all of it. Crystal shackles? Buckles? I'm not sure"

After freeing her husband and saving the village, she will be in front of Nokama's Hut with her husband:

"What did they do to him? What's wrong with my husband?"
Are you both alright?
"Ja-Reet won't talk to me. He ran up and hugged me, but he won't speak to me!
At least we're both alive, thanks to you."
Memory of Feyne Vildan

Clarity[edit]

If you haven't started the quest, she will say:

"Why won't he speak to me?"

She needs you to speak to the tree-minder to see what can be done about Ja-Reet's non-responsive behavior:

"Ever since you rescued him, Ja-Reet won't talk. Look in his eyes. It's like he's not there at all.
I had ... harsh words with the tree-minder. She won't talk to me now. Would you ask her for help?"
Where can I find the tree-minder?
"Her hut's just up this path.
She doesn't trust me, and after our recent clash, I doubt she'll want me to stay. But I'll do whatever she says it takes to heal Ja-Reet."
I'll get the tree-minder's help.
"I wish we'd never come here, but Ja-Reet insisted we'd find a way to fit in."
What's your husband doing here? (Repeats the questions that can be asked in the previous quest)

If spoken to after the tree-minder has directed you to the village's mushroom cave:

"If you gather the lanceata pholiota for the tree-minder's ritual, she'll help Ja-Reet."

Once you have collected a sample of lanceata pholiota:

"Please, take the lanceata pholiota to the tree-minder and see if she can help."

A hallucinated Feyne Vildan, formed from Ja-Reet's memories, can be spoken to during the quest. She will give love and support for Ja-Reet:

"Ja-Reet! I heard you talking to Tree-Minder Fal-Xoc.
You're not going to Percolating Mire, are you?"
You know I'm different. The tree-minder can help me.
"Different isn't wrong. I love you the way you are."
Come with me. We belong together.
"Do you mean it? I can come with you?
I know it won't be easy for us. Ja-Reet, we're stronger together than apart."
You're right. Now let's just be quiet for a while.

After you've defeated Carethil, you can speak with her in the waking world.

"I'm so worried about my husband. About our future."

After speaking with the tree-minder:

"Ja-Reet can't seem to decide whether to come home or not. Could you talk to him?"

If Ja-Reet and Feyne decide to go to Narsis:

"Ja-Reet and I will never have an easy life together, no matter where we go."

If Ja-Reet and Feyne instead decide to stay in Percolating Mire:

"If Ja-Reet's happy, I'll make the best of it."
