Gerent Saervild Steel-Wind

Gerent Saervild Steel-Wind is a Nord officer of the Ebonheart Pact tasked with retrieving Argonian artifacts from the ruins of Bogmother. He is Njorlund Steel-Wind's father.

Skills and Abilities

You will eventually discover that he has been murdered and his form stolen by a Dominion Skin-stealer. You will need to defeat the imposter as part of the related quest.

Flare

A basic ranged attack that does minor flame damage.

Quick Strike

A basic melee attack that does minor physical damage.

Ice Cage

The enemy summons a ring of frost around itself that does moderate frost damage over time to all players in the red circle.

Impending Storm

The enemy charges up and releases lightning from itself as indicated by red circles. This attack does moderate shock damage to all enemies hit. This attack can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance or simply avoided.

After receiving Ganthis's message, you'll find Saervild in front of Bogmother:

"You're the help Ganthis sent? Looks like he finally did something right.
Welcome. I'm Saervild Steel-Wind, Vicecanon Hrondar's deputy."

Thank you. What can I do to help?

"I need to get all the relics rounded up, but my fool son has run off into the swamp again. No help, that one.
I swear he takes after his mother's side of the family."

Saving the Relics

When you first come across him, he'll be impatient.

"What's keeping that idiot? He should be back by now!"

He needs Argonian relics to be collected to prevent the Dominion from seizing them:

"Dominion troops have been spotted in this area. Steer clear, if you've a mind to keep your head."

Who are you?

"Saervild Steel-Wind, deputy to the Vicecanon Hrondar. My son and I were sent to this festering sewer on a mission of vital importance to the Pact."

How can I help?

"A number of Argonian relics are scattered throughout this swamp. I've been told that they're powerful enough to turn the tide of the war in our favor.
I was skeptical, but the Dominion presence here seems to confirm it. We need to get to them first."

I'll gather the relics for you.

If you completed Bound to the Bog:

"Enough about my problems. I'm just glad you're here."

"Watch yourself. This area is dangerous even when there aren't enemy soldiers prowling around."

Tree-Minder Raleetal said the Dominion is here. Do the vicecanons know?

"Maybe. Hrondar sent me to this festering sewer to get Argonian relics. Something about turning the tide of the war.
The Dominion's likely here for the same reason."

How can I help?

"You want to help? Bring me the relics! We can't let the Dominion get their hands on them.
Take care of this for me, and you'll be rewarded from Vicecanon Hrondar's own purse."

I'll get them for you.

"Good. You'll find them in the small reliquaries scattered around the area.
If you see my lackwit son Njorlund in the bog, tell him to get back to camp. Once we have the relics, we'll be moving on."

After accepting the quest, you can ask him more about the relics.

"Keep an eye out for my fool son while you're out there, will you?"

What can you tell me about these relics?

"They don't look like much. Little Argonian carvings. I have no idea why they're so important.
You'll find them inside four reliquaries, near the stone altars in the swamp."

Why don't you collect them yourself?

"My son and I were delayed on the road. A Pact scout should be here any minute to take the relics back to Stormhold. If I'm not here, he'll raise an alarm that would wake dead Ysgramor!
I sent my boy to get them, but he's worthless."

What is your son's name?

"Njorlund. Boy couldn't find his own arse with a clairvoyance spell. Takes after his whoring mother.
Enough talk. When you find the relics, bring them here."

When you find him at the Dominion camp, he will attack you:
