Irvalam

Irvalam is a Dark Elf member of the Mages Guild and the magister of the guild hall in Bergama. He can be found upstairs.

Dialogue[edit]

If you're not part of the guild, he says:

"You look weary from the desert sun, and I sense you bear an added weight.
We Dunmer know about such things."
Tell me about the Mages Guild.
"We of the Mages Guild are dedicated to the pursuit of wisdom, of knowledge.
Petty rivalry as is had here in Bergama holds no interest for us outside of academic curiosity. Are you interested in becoming a Docent?"
What does a Docent do?
"Docents bring rare texts of all sorts to us, so that we may expand our libraries.
In exchange we offer them access to buy items which are restricted to guild members, as well as the occasional special task for those who are willing."
I want to become a member of the Mages Guild.
"I hereby grant you the rank of Student in the Mages Guild, along with the responsibilities and privileges thereof. Congratulations are in order!
Every book you acquire, or collection of books you help to complete, will now earn you status among us."

If you've already found some lore books:

I found some texts. Can you tell me about them?
"By the Three! I have been searching for this text for a long while….
You're well on your way to earning membership within the Mages Guild, just in discovering it. The Guild provides great rewards when a Docent acquires books for the library."
What does a Docent do?
"Docents earn reputation by bringing in rare texts for study. And so as your reputation grows, so too do your rewards swell like the belly of a netch in the sun.
Are you interested in joining the Mages Guild, sera?"
Yes, I would like to join the Mages Guild.
"Congratulations, sera! I hereby grant you the rank of Student in the Mages Guild, along with the responsibilities and privileges thereof.
Every book you acquire, or collection of books you help to complete, will now earn you a status among us."

If you're part of the guild, he greets you.

"Greetings, sera. Distrust runs deep here in the Alik'r, but you are most welcome in our Guildhall."

Notes[edit]

  • As of the current state of the game, if you wish to join the Mages Guild, he won't be able to enlist you.
