Mardina is a Redguard member of the Mages Guild and the magister of the Aldcroft branch.

Dialogue

Before joining the guild:

"Dark clouds gather over Aldcroft. You don't need magicka to see that. But … sorry. You want to talk guild business, I'm sure."

Guild business?

"The Mages Guild. We're scholars dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. Guild members seek out books, tomes, and ancient scrolls in their travels. We aid each other where we can, and provide magical support for any that would ask our help."

So you act as bookhunters?

"Yeah. The guild doesn't care about wars, battlefields, or boundaries: just knowledge, study and the acquisition of new tomes. Strange thing to say in this place, but it's true."

What would I get in return?

"We can teach you special spells and abilities only available to members. And from time to time projects crop up for guildmembers with ambition. Who knows, you might attract the attention of Mistress Valaste or Guildmaster Vanus."

I wish to join the Mages Guild, then.

"Sounds good. I hereby grant you membership in the Mages Guild, with all the responsibilities and privileges thereof. Every book you find, and every book collection you complete, will earn you reputation in the guild. May the Eight watch over you."
