Speaking to him while he's imprisoned:

"Damnable Daedric rituals. Just wait until I'm free."

After you free him, he beckons you forward.

Sergeant Galandir: "You. Come with me."

Speak with him.

"Quickly. We don't have much time."
Time for what?
"Captain Ethrel and the rest of our scouts are trapped on the other side of that portal!"
How did that happen?
"The main portal was unguarded when we got here. Captain Ethrel took four of our number through. That's when the Dremora swept in and captured us. Set up crystals to seal the portal.
It was a trap and we walked into it like yesterday's dinner."
So destroying the crystals will unseal the portal?
"That's the idea. But there are secondary portals all around the main one, protecting the crystals. Ready yourself for a fight."
I'll handle the crystals.

You can ask him another question.

"If we don't close the portal from the other side, the Daedra will find a way to re-open it."
Aren't you going to assist me?
"Basic tactics, soldier. I need to cover your back so the Daedra on the hill don't flank you."

If you destroy all the warding crystals before killing the Dremora, he reminds you to kill them.

Sergeant Galandir: "The Dremora are keeping the seal intact! You'll have to kill them too!"

Turning in the quest after closing the portal:

"You closed the Daedric portal! Moonhenge is back to its old self, plus a few decorations. But where's the Captain?"
She didn't make it.

His response differs depending on who your mage was and whether or not you stayed behind. If you stayed behind:

"Damn. But it looks like everyone else got out."
I stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"That's the biggest risk I've ever seen a soldier take. You deserve a medal."
What will you do now?
"We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If Iniel was your mage:

"She always wanted to die in battle. And it looks like you're short another."

If Sinien was your mage:

"Damn. And it looks like you're short another."

The next few lines depend on which NPC stayed behind. If Sinien stayed behind:

Sinien stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"She's a bright light. She might be able to shine even in Coldharbour.
We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If Iniel stayed behind:

Iniel stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"Iniel … we were close, once. I wish I could've spoken to her one last time.
We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If Hazazi stayed behind:

Hazazi stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"He's a tough one. And if he survives, maybe he'll stop griping about his postings.
We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If Azsu stayed behind:

Aszu stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"He was a fine soldier and a good friend. I'll remember his sacrifice. That's what he'd do for me.
We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If Nara stayed behind:

Nara stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"Well, if anyone can survive the planes of Oblivion, it's a Vinedusk Ranger. Nara's tougher than wood.
We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If Paranarth stayed behind:

Paranarth stayed behind to destroy the other Moonhenge.
"Damn. She'd just joined us. I should not have allowed the Captain to take her.
We'll mop up the remaining Daedra and start rebuilding the outpost. Thanks to you, we won't have to fight a war on two fronts."

If you exit out of the conversation before turning in the quest, he will alternatively say:

"It'll be tough going without the Captain. Command never really suited me."
