Heretics are those opposed to Sheogorath and desire his overthrow. Therefore, they are enemies of the law and must live in rural areas. Heretics tend to make camp on the Mania side of the isles.
Heretics are much like Conjurers in that they prefer to summon daedra (Hungers), then flee and cast a Restoration spell. When their summon is destroyed, a Heretic will simply summon another; it is thus wise to focus on the caster. They are often found in groups, making haste a factor in the slaying of a lone Heretic. Heretics tend to use blunt weaponry. There are 8 types of Heretic, they are Heretic Crusader, Heretic Crusader Witch, Heretic Lackey, Heretic Novitiate, Heretic Soldier, Heretic Watchman, Heretic Warpriest, and Transformed Heretic.
It is possible to take their robes and deceive other Heretics through disguise - but only at a distance. If you get too close, they will see through the ruse and begin to attack.
All Heretics have a special "Heretic Birthsign" that provides them with the following permanent bonus:
- Fortify Magicka 50pts
They also have a Firm Beliefs lesser power (Dispel 300pts on self).
