The Palace of Sheogorath, between the Houses of Mania and Dementia

The Palace of Sheogorath is in the New Sheoth Palace district of New Sheoth. It serves as a hub during the main quest, with most quests being started and finished here, as this is the primary location of Lord Sheogorath. Like the city of New Sheoth and the Isles themselves, it is equally divided into Mania and Dementia halves. The curious distinction here being that the dividing line separating the two can easily be seen running exactly down the center of the room and through Sheogorath's throne. The decor, torch flames, and water on each respective side is reflective of the area it represents as well.

The Palace (Throne Room) becomes a museum of small easter eggs as you further complete steps in the main quest. There are a number of empty pedestals adorning the sides when you initially enter the Isles. Unique items pertaining to the decisions you've made in the quests will fill up the pedestals and serve as haunting or victorious reminders. The Throne Room also contains the semi-hidden entrance to The Fountainhead, found on the back of the large tree growing out of the fountain, although the door is sealed closed until starting a related quest. The actual fountain in the room holds a unique purpose as well and comes to be known as the Font of Madness.
