[edit] 3 In-Game Hours?
This did not take even remotely 24 in-game hours on mine. It could not have been more than 3 hours at best, I ran from the Priory of the Nine to the Imperial Waterfront and received the marker almost immediately after stepping out of Lake Rumare. I don't know why this happened though, even the manual says it will take 24 in-game hours before receiving the update. --AlbinoMudcrab 03:41, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
- This is noted in the Article; times can vary from 3 hours to three days--LordDagon 11:36, 26 January 2008 (EST)
[edit] Moth
- It was once stated in an interview in Official XBox Magazine that there is 1 moth in the swarm of butterflies.
I've moved this note here from the main article. I'm not really sure whether anyone particularly cares about moth and butterfly statistics, but if the note is going to be in the article I'd like to make sure it is accurate. And based upon the construction set, at least, I don't see any evidence for this. In particular, the MiscMoth01 static effect used to create moths is not used anywhere in this area or in any scripts. Can anyone confirm this statement or at the least provide a link to the source interview? --NepheleTalk 22:30, 30 July 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Possible bug?
I am able to enter the door but cannot sit down to talk with Haskill. Has anyone encountered this and is there a fix?
- It's a commonly encountered bug that appears after completing the Knights of the Nine questline. Don't worry though; the game will still recognize your attempts to sit and the quest will continue. --Saruuk 17:40, 9 August 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Return to Cyrodil?
After entering the Shivering Isles, can you return to Cyrodil? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.48.116.66 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Do I need to get Live?
Do I need Xbox Live to install the game of the year expansion? I have tried waiting for three or four days and was met with nothing. I just noticed my machine asks for an update on installation. What I don’t know is if the update is on the disk, or if I need to get Xbox Live to use it. Can anyone help?
I have the Game of the Year edition of Oblivion. The Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions are downloaded off Disk 2, and then you play them on Disk 1. You don't need Xbox Live.
[edit] Question about the Shivering isles patch
Once i install the update from the collectors edition of Oblivion do I need the first disc of the edition for it to play. I have the original version but it doesn't work. The thing is though a friend of mine did it this exact same way but it works could it be a hardware problem or maybe it could be a software problem. any help would be appreciated.
[edit] help
this seems like the right place to put it....or on the next quest...i leave the gate to try and put things in my house. and as i go out there are about 5 golden saints and residents of bliss with one member of the sacellum arden sul.. can i get them back into the gate? what do i do about it? i had a 40 gold shivering isles bounty if it helps
[edit] Out of curiosity
Does anyone know the distinction between quest state 50 and quest state 200? Glenmorial 22:37, 16 May 2009 (EDT)
- Stage 50 is never used. The script that runs when Haskill says "Enjoy your stay" sets stage 200 but has code to set stage 50 commented out. That's the only reference to stage 50 anywhere. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 00:07, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
- Ah, interestering. I wonder why they did it that way. Thanks for the response. Glenmorial 20:06, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
[edit] Bug?
Occasionally Belmyne Dreleth will be pushed off the island into the water during the initial fight, preventing the quest from proceeding.
- This was put on the article here and I subsequently added a VN tag that said "Does this really stop the quest? Can the player not simply kill Dreleth?". We now have this added as a second VN that seems to explain that the bug is incorrect: " On versions I've seen, this does not stop the quest, the NPC merely falls off after him, kills him, and returns to position.".
- I've moved it here since, essentially, the verification has been done. –rpeh•T•C•E• 06:36, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- On testing this myself, I found that rpeh's initial hypothesis in the VN tag is correct. He will not always path properly back onto the island, so I re-instated the initial bug report, but put it in the Notes section, since it's a readily-solvable bug. Might still belong in the bugs section, though, I suppose. —Robin Hood (Talk • E-mail • Contribs) 22:10, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Can't find gate?
I bought the Game of the year edition ages ago, and i have never got a quest about the Shimmering Isles, i looked in Nimben Bay but all i could find was Fort Grief? Do i need to be a certain level or have done a quest for it to come? I'm level 10, Gray fox of Thieves Guild, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, Grand Champion of the Arena, Swordsman of the Fighter's guild and Divine Crusader of the Knights of the nine. In the main story line i'm at the part where i have to get the armour of Tiber Septim. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.102.193.250 (talk • contribs) on 21:22, 14 September 2009.
- The quest is called A Door in Niben Bay and should pop up within three in-game days. You don't have to do any quests or leveling - and judging from how far you are in the game, it should've appeared under your current quests ages ago - along with a map marker in Niben Bay. Are you on PC, Xbox or PS3? --Krusty 21:36, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I don't have that quest in the Current quests tab, and it is on the PS3 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.102.193.250 (talk • contribs) on 15:32, 15 September 2009.
- That's really odd. Maybe you should try starting a new game, just to check if it pops up or your disc is seriously broken? It only takes 15 minutes to run through the Tutorial, so it might be worth a check. Other than that, I can't help you - I'm on the PS3 as well, and have started from scratch over twenty times - and the mission has always popped up within three in-game days. Krusty 16:15, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
I started a new game, got to where the emperor dies. Then i waited for 3 days, nothing happened. I looked at the disc, and there aren't any scratches at all. What coudl it be? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.102.193.250 (talk • contribs) on 18:20, 15 September 2009.
- Remember, you will have to exit the sewers for the quest to initiate. Also, can you please sign your posts with four tildes as instructed at the top of this page? Thanks - and good luck triggering the quest. Krusty 19:29, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
I got out of the sewers and waited 3 days, nothing happened, does this mean it won't work at all? 77.102.193.250 19:56, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, I must admit, I'm out of ideas. Except.... if you look here, you will see that there is a PS3 version without the Shivering Isles - is it possible, that your disc is the "non-SI"-version? (it might say Game of the Year on the cover, but not on the disc or something). That is the only explanation I can think of, as I have never heard about anyone having problems triggering Shivering Isles on the Game of the Year edition for PS3. Krusty 20:09, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- You're right, it doesn't say anything about being game of the year on the disc, but i have all of the Knight of the Nine armor set, doesn't that require me to have the Knights of the Nine? 77.102.193.250 15:11, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

-
- All PS3 versions of the game come with Knights of the Nine (see PS3 content), so it sounds like you just have the regular version of the game. --NepheleTalk 15:18, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
-
Ok thanks to everyone who commmented, i guess they gave me the wrong disc when i bought it; nothing i can do now its been way to long to take it back. I guess i'll just buy the expansion. If i do, will i still have all the saved data i have at the moment? 77.102.193.250 20:45, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- While not a PS3 player myself, as far as I know, it works the same there as on the PC, and yes, you'd still have everything you already have plus all the new content. The problems usually arise when you're going the other way around and UNinstalling something. —Robin Hood (Talk • E-mail • Contribs) 21:36, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
