[edit] Pit=Subterranean Lake

The article tells you that you'll fall down into a pit. A little misleading, and the first time I made my descent I could not help but think "At this height, my character isn't going to survive the impact at bottom!". Truly, the character could not have if it weren't for the fact that you land in deep water instead of hard rock.Dark Spark 23:44, 15 December 2007 (EST)

You know you can edit the articles yourself, right? You should feel free to add information like that yourself rather than asking somebody else. —RpehTCE 03:02, 16 December 2007 (EST)
And you know that some people with an odd sense of semantics will just go back and revert the article because they feel that (subterranean lake aside) that a pit is a pit, and that thing there-- well, it's a pit! They'll tell me that Fain was obviously designed to freak the first-time player out. I'm looking for a little thing called 'discussion and consensus' before rocking this boat with those folks. I've been bitten once. so I'm twice as shy.Dark Spark 14:08, 16 December 2007 (EST)

[edit] Deepest Pit?

Just for reference, the drop down into the lake is roughly 17,400 units; Dive Rock is roughly 14,700 units and Mt Sheogorath is 15,700 units. That means the claim that the pit is the deepest drop in the game is probably correct. –RpehTCE 06:42, 27 November 2008 (EST)

Except there are bottomless pits such as those in Lost Boy Cavern. --NepheleTalk 12:02, 27 November 2008 (EST)

[edit] Morrowinds Jiub?

Is it possible that Gyub is a reference to Jiub from Morrowind? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.14.75.188 (talkcontribs) on 29 November 2008.

Given that Jiub is actually mentioned in dialogue in Oblivion, I'm going to say "no" on this one. –RpehTCE 01:35, 30 November 2008 (EST)
Possibly "Gyub" is the noise the heretics make when they fall into the water? Similar to "Glub"? Auguil 23:45, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
I highly doubt it. --Elliot(T-C) 09:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
