[edit] Not a Bliss quest

I believe this is a Crucible quest, not a Bliss quest. I only have rudimentary editing skills, so could somebody more knowledgable move this? Thanks. Ambiguous Nord 16:47, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Calming Pants problem

For some reason She wont take the calming pants from me. I somehow ended up with 2. I was wondering if there are any known fixes for this? Mud man3 20:56, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

[edit] so the torches were lit

And I hadn't saved for awhile is there a fix to this bug. If I come back later will they unlite themselves or am I screwed for this quest

Make sure you are trying to light the correct torches. The three in the middle, right next to the urn, are always on fire. You have to get the three in the corners of the room burning. ThebigMuh 17:57, 9 September 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Getting back the ring

"Since the Ring of Desiccation is originally part of the Museum of Oddities, after you have completed this quest, you can actually buy the ring back from Ahjazda and donate it back to the Museum" Do you have to buy the ring back immediately? I went back to find it a few days later and she didn't have it (or at least it was not available to buy). Maybe her inventory re-sets? If so, the note should mention this.

[edit] Calming Pants Question

If you decide to equip the Calming Pants, you are affected by a permenant spell effect, 'Extreme Calm'. Does anybody have any idea as to what this spell effect actually does? --Merco 11:16, 23 February 2008 (EST)

I'd like to know too. But no hurry... I'm feeling quite...relaxed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.120.103.127 (talkcontribs).
The only command that gets run when you put on the pants is pme calm. Pme is a shortened form of PlayMagicEffectVisuals so all that the pants do is constantly play the effects for the Calm magic effect. Nothing more. –RpehTCE 03:12, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
Oh, and the spell effect isn't permanent. It only looks that way because the effect lingers when you take off the pants (that sounded weird), try opening and closing your journal once or twice, the spell will be gone.

[edit] There is no spoon ring.

I added a bug to the main page about the missing Ring of Desiccation. I tried a couple of reasonable things to get the Ring to re-appear "naturally", and wasn't able to find anything obvious. If anybody finds out that I'm wrong in thinking that this is a bug, and the ring does actually re-appear at some point, please remove my Bug entry and add a Note explaining how to get the ring to re-appear. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 00:56, 17 April 2008 (EDT)

Strange. I just tried it out, and she immediately replaced it in the case. I don't have the Unnofficial Patch, as I play on the XBox. I don't know what the problem might be. -Dan 9410 15:46, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Huh. That certainly is odd that she would return it for one but not the other. If I recall correctly, she walked up to the display case, but didn't actually do anything while there, and the ring never re-appeared. I'm not 100% sure of that any more, though; it's been a few days. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 16:56, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Wasn't fixed in the USIP as there is no spoon bug. I tried it both with the USIP and unmodded twice each and she does put the ring back in the display case where it can be stolen and given back to her again or used for the Coming Storm, so I think that this is a non-bug and needs to be removed from the main page. There is a bug (just wrote an e-mail to Robin Hood as the Wiki's having problems.) Was able to recreate this. It's the museum tour that bugs it all. I'm going to try this with numerous Oddities to see if it breaks putting them back in their cases or being able to give them to her. I'll update the main page when I have all the details. I'll change the existing bug description. Kivan 10:37, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
Ironically, as it's the only item needed for another quest, it seems that only the Ring of Desiccation will do this. I tried interrupting her tour and offering items stolen and new, and stealing them during the tour, and offering multiple items back, and asking for the tour while she was placing multiple items, and it was flawless, except for the Ring of Desiccation, which was easy to recreate the problem with. This is good as that's less work for me. :^) Kivan 11:51, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
I found the bug. It's in stage 5 of the quest. It will happen with all of the "original" three items (Ring, Gatekeeper Arm and Pygmy Skull):
; initialize quest variables
set SE38.itemA to 3
set SE38.itemB to 3
set SE38.itemC to 3
It does this without bothering to check if the player already stole one or more of them, so sets them to be "placed" when they aren't. So if the player already stole one, the state is reset and the player can no longer return it, and if she has the item and is currently returning it to its case (the var is 2) she won't. This will be a nice easy fix; just check if the static is disabled before setting the var or that it's not currently zero. Kivan 12:20, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
Excellent! Glad to hear that you got it. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 20:58, 25 June 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Can't get ring without stealing it?

Is it true that you can't get the ring without stealing it? I have been playing a clean character with all bad stats at zero(68 days and no assaults, thefts, pickpockets, bounty etc) and would like to keep it so for this incarnation. The quest is not that good as there is no fame, gold or cool items so I suppose I could leave it unfinished. -TheOtherZack 4.246.234.248 23:52, 8 October 2008 (EDT)

Yes, you have to steal the ring to complete the quest so "good" characters will have to skip this one. –RpehTCE 03:09, 9 October 2008 (EDT)
