What are the outcomes of killing either side?
Does it affect any other quests or story?
Thanx in advance!
Didn't affect anything for me. Anyone else having trouble getting the female Khajit (the demented one) killed without getting a bounty? I can kill every other demented but when I try to kill her, I get an instant bounty, even if I do so when she's sleeping and the male Khajit in her house has been killed. Also, I don't think the order presented in the article matters.--74.122.192.40 17:29, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Can't start quest
I can't start this quest! I spoke with some of citizens, but no entry appeared in journal. Has this quest any prerequisites?
Update: entering village I found that 1 citizens is dead (J'zidzo). He fallen from this mountain. One of Horvirs is also fallen, but as he's quest person, he alive.
How can I revive this quest?
- Aye i had the same problem, and i cant seem to solve it. If you're playing on the PC version there is probably a console code available to sort it out, although i dont know it.--Willyhead 09:27, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

- I went to Split and no one mentions anything about a counterpart they want to die. In fact, they smetimes talk to each other. Is it due to the fact that one of them might be dead ( or gone away) and how can I fix this (I have the xbox 360 version)? --User:Dan 14:55, 10 August 2007 (EDT)

- I'm also having this problem...and yes, I've completed the Main Quest...I kinda figured the same thing, but if anyone comes up with a way to fix it, let me know!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.88.116.142 (talk • contribs).

- I moved some of the previous comments from Shivering Talk:Glitches instead of having two separate discussions about the same topic.
- If any resident of Split dies before the quest appears in your journal (i.e., before talking to one of the residents and hearing about it), then the quest is permanently disabled. This is true whether the resident dies at your hands, dies from an accident, or is killed by a creature. I don't think there is any way to fix it. When a resident dies, the script issues the command
StopQuest SE46which removes the quest from the list of available quests. If you're on the PC, you could tryStartQuest SE46, but even if it works it's possible you'll run into subsequent problems because you can no longer kill all of the residents. --NepheleTalk 19:45, 3 November 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Reward
I don't think the gold amounts shown for reward are correct... I was over level 30 and only got 1000 gold for completing this quest. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.135.100.99 (talk • contribs).
- The amounts are correct, but if I'm reading the scripts right, it's decided when you start the quest and not when you finish it. That might explain the disparity you found. --Rpeh•T•C•E• 14:53, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Actually, I believe that's buggy. My impression is that it's decided every time you play, so if you've installed Shivering Isles at a high level, you'll get the appropriate reward. If you start at level 1, then the reward will be updated, but the amount it's updated to is half of the amount listed on the page. My guess is that they changed the reward amounts along the way somewhere, but neglected to update them in all places. --Robin Hood (Talk • E-mail • Contribs) 22:19, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
- I just now did this quest at level 41 and only received 600 gold. I started and finished the quest and I was level 40 when I first entered the Shivering Isles for the first time.--Shugo Ookami 00:43, 9 June 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, that matches with the script bug I mentioned. You get half the gold you should. Not that I would expect you to care by level 40, but if you're using a PC and you want the remaining gold, just use the console and enter
player.additem F 600. It's my understanding that Mr. Kevvy has implemented a fix for this in the upcoming version of the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch. --Robin Hood (Talk • E-mail • Contribs) 02:04, 9 June 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Quest Stage Re-formatting
I was thinking of re-formatting the quest stage table to look like this, but while I think it looks much better in a large, wide-screen window, I'm not so sure if it's better or worse on smaller screens. Anybody have a second opinion?
- I actually considered doing it that way, but opted not to for pretty much the reason you stated, that it would look awkward on smaller monitors. It looks fine to me, but I've got a pretty large screen. Other opinions needed. --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:55, 5 August 2008 (EDT)

- It looks fine (on this page at least) on a 1024x768 screen. Do we need to worry about lower resolutions nowadays? --Gaebrial 08:41, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

-
- Well, the 800x600 crowd still has about 8% of the market, according to this. And trying this at 800x600, yeah, it does look kind of bad. Question is, though - is it worth still worrying about people who run on such a low res? (I'm guessing most of them aren't gamers if they're willing to accept such low res.) Anyone here have any objections? --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:20, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

- Even people with higher resolution monitors sometimes choose to not have their browser at full size -- which is also a way to see how pages look at narrower widths.
- And in my opinion, even shrinking my browser to half-width (~700 px or less), the side-by-side version of the table still seems clearer than the current version of the table. Yes, each of the entries wraps to more than one line. But the overall table length is shorter, and side-by-side still makes it easier to understand of the overall quest structure. So I'd vote for replacing the table with Robin Hood's side-by-side version. --NepheleTalk 11:22, 6 August 2008 (EDT)
