Ancient's Ascent is a dragon lair that contains a word wall for the Animal Allegiance shout that is located in the mountains southwest of Helgen.
The route to the wall is through Bonechill Passage, a short cave. It can also be accessed by using a horse to climb the mountains around the area. There are three snowberry plants to the right of the path after exiting Bonechill Passage, and a leveled dragon will attack when you begin to approach the Word Wall from the cave. The dragon's chest sits at the wall's base.

Before the dragons' return, the wall is guarded by a few leveled enemies. There are no other differences to the location.

- It is one of the locations suggested by Marise as a place to find ice wraith teeth for her quest.
- Climbing the rocks behind the wall provides a shortcut to Bloodlet Throne.
