The Druadach Mountains

The Druadach Mountains are a mountain range in western Skyrim serving as a natural barrier to separate Skyrim from High Rock and Hammerfell.

The range curves from the northeast around Dragon Bridge to Falkreath Hold. The misty peaks tower over Markarth and Karthwasten in the Reach, though they gradually diminish closer to Haafingar and Solitude. The Karth River originates in the range and drops down many waterfalls as it flows to the northeast following the range to the Sea of Ghosts. Since the First Era, the Reachmen, now known as the Forsworn, have been taking advantage of the cliffs, caves, and rugged terrain of the Druadach Mountains in guerrilla warfare campaigns against invading armies. The range is home to many ancient Dwemer ruins, Nord fortresses, and Orc strongholds.
