Dwarven Oil is dropped by Dwarven automatons. Dwarven oil has all the same effects as taproot, allowing you to make a potion with all four effects.

Ingredients

11 guaranteed samples can be found in 3 different locations:

• 8 in Mzinchaleft (Hjaalmarch)
• 2 in Irkngthand Arcanex (The Pale)
• 1 in Alftand Animonculory (Winterhold)

With the Dawnguard plug-in 1 more guaranteed sample can be found in 1 different location:

• 1 in Valerica's Study^DG (Castle Volkihar)

With the Dragonborn plug-in 12 more guaranteed samples can be found in 1 different location:

• 12 in Kagrumez^DB (Solstheim)

It is categorized as an uncommon ingredient, meaning that all apothecary merchants have a 15% chance of carrying 1-5 samples. In addition, it may be randomly found in uncommon- and rare-type apothecary's satchels.

Creatures

Dwarven centurions (including Dwarven centurion guardians and Dwarven centurion masters) are guaranteed to drop at least one sample of Dwarven oil. All other automatons, in particular all varieties of Dwarven spheres, Dwarven spiders, and Dwarven ballistae^DB, have a 50% chance of dropping one sample.
