Hern with Dawnguard installed

Hern is a Nord lumberjack who owns and operates the Half-Moon Mill with his wife, Hert. He is secretly a vampire but, unlike Hert, his vampirism is noticeably visible. Strangely, he will not use Vampiric Drain in combat. He is one of the targets of the Dark Brotherhood. He does not appear until the quest Kill Hern is started.

With the Dawnguard plug-in, his appearance changes, showing his condition as a vampire.
