 Zone 1: Yngvild
The cave contains several draugr and Yngvild ghosts, all females who are most likely the victims of Arondil's "experiments", which are mentioned in his journals found while navigating through the cave. Upon entering there is a burial urn on your right behind a protruding rock amongst plant matter. In the first room is a table with a potion of extreme healing on it. A draugr can be found patrolling the next tunnel; through the next cave area be aware of another patrolling draugr. As the tunnel opens out again this room has multiple exits. The first left leads to the first journal on a table, guarded by an Yngvild ghost. Dispatching this one will likely alert a second ghost and draugr in the next room. The room they come from contains a stone table with two burial urns on it, with a further urn and burial urn to the left. Backtrack to the main cave where there is a tunnel almost opposite; this leads to a room with only a partly buried draugr to loot. The second on the left leads to a room with two burial urns and another ghost. The final exit from the cave leads to a multi-leveled room guarded by two draugr—one on your level and one on the level below. There is a broken bridge right in front of you which you can jump across; behind the pillar are two burial urns. Follow the curving path up to the top to an adept-locked chest. Backtrack down, all the way to the bottom of the room, to find another chest (unlocked). Continue onwards and you come to another table with the second journal, a woodcutters axe, and a scroll of Raise Zombie. Another ghost and draugr await you as you move ahead into the next room. Around the corner in an alcove on the left is a third journal on a table along with a potion of minor stamina. The door leads to the Yngvild Throne Room.
 Zone 2: Yngvild Throne Room
Arondil can be found in the secondary zone, the Yngvild Throne Room. The four journals you collect imply that Arondil was not only a necromancer, but a necrophiliac. While fighting Arondil, he may remark, "Ah, another plaything for my collection." To the right of Arondil's throne (your right as you face him, his left as he sits on the throne) is a soul gem on a pedestal which, if picked up, causes the ghost next to Arondil to attack him. The easiest way to kill him is to sneak around the right of the room to behind the gem pedestal. If you steal the gem and remain hidden, the ghost will kill him for you. The ghost in the adjacent bedroom will join in this fray (if it lasts long enough). Either ghost seems more than a match for Arondil who, during the fight, will complain bitterly about the tables being turned. In the throne room there are three urns, the pedestal with the soul gem on it, and a stone table with an empty common soul gem, two ectoplasm and a copy of the Alteration skill book Reality & Other Falsehoods.
After dispatching Arondil in the throne room, a bedroom can be found behind an iron door. A ghost is sleeping in the bed. You can attempt to talk to the spirit, but this will only result in an immediate attack. An unusual gem, a bottle of wine, and a purple mountain flower in a tankard can be found on the desk next to the last journal. There are several red mountain flowers all over the floor. A potion of extreme magicka is on a sideboard on the right as you enter, with a chest and a Grand Staff of Charming behind. A separate passage leads to a lever-triggered gate, into a cave with three female corpses: a Nord, a Redguard, and a Breton. Beyond the corpses, you will find a locked (master-level) door which can be opened using Arondil's Key from Arondil's body. The door leads to a shortcut back to the first area of Yngvild where you can find a locked chest. The shortcut brings you out in the room that has two burial urns (second on left from main cave room).
- If you head south-southeast from the entrance to Yngvild onto the mainland you will come across the charred remains of Yisra, a student from the College of Winterhold that recently went missing. Among the burning remnants that surround her is a copy of a Spell Tome: Flame Cloak.
- On a small island west of the entrance to Yngvild is a gold ore vein, as is on the small island to the northeast of the entrance.
