Easter Egg[edit]

Just thought i should mention that Babette might be an easter egg referring to the Claudia Character From the Movie Interview With a Vampire. — Unsigned comment by 124.148.140.73 (talk) at 20:30 on 19 November 2011

Still Around After Death Incarnate?[edit]

I was wondering if anyone can confirm if she is still around after the "Death Incarnate" quest? She is one of the most twisted and fun to listen to characters they have every place in the game and I would hate to lose her lol.. A simple yes or no is all I want i don't need any details, I just started a long work week of overtime and will not get to play for a few days to find out :P 68.172.212.252 01:30, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

yes. — Unsigned comment by 86.186.126.162 (talk) at 01:37 on 25 November 2011

Still Around After Destroy the Dark Brotherhood?[edit]

Where is she / can she even be found, after "destroy the dark brotherhood"??? Need her for master alchemy training... — Unsigned comment by 24.72.188.85 (talk) at 06:06 on 30 November 2011

Being a child model she is removed from the game if that path is chosen 68.172.212.252 20:40, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Another reason is through dialogue if you've joined the brotherhood is she was in Vvardenfell carrying out a House Redoran contract. I remember her saying something along the lines of "In and out of Vvardenfell within 48 hours." Now it MAY be farfetched but it can explain her absence from the Sanctuary when you destroy it and thus she has no knowledge of the attack and/or has not the will to return to the destroyed brotherhood --- it could be foreshadowing IF the player went that route of course. --Lore Master 20:48, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Special Commentary for Fellow Vamps?[edit]

If u are a vampire when u first meet babette does she comment on this? — Unsigned comment by 166.250.97.30 (talk) at 02:09 on 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Arnbjorn has special dialogue options available to fellow werewolves, so I'd imagine she would. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:09, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
She has no special dialogue. Alva is the only person to notice I was a vampire without being stage 4 so far. Falion also noticed but I think thats more quest related. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 19:00, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Moved Notes[edit]

  • Babette may be a nod to the vampire child Claudia in the popular fiction book "Interview with the Vampire". Like Babette, Claudia was made into a vampire as a child, causing her to not grow.
  • Babette could be a reference to the "Cirque Du Freak" book series. In the series, a child is turned into a Vampire and is expected to help care for the Vampire's pet spider. The book on the table next to her, The Apprentice's Assistant, furthers this as it is similar to the second novel in the series, "The Vampire's Assistant." Babette also has a large 'pet' spider near her customary table in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.

Considering these two notes contradict each other, and that they belong at Skyrim:Easter Eggs (where the "Interview with the Vampire" reference is already mentioned as a possibility)0, I've removed them from the article. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 18:20, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Image[edit]

The image on the page, at least in my browser, is not up to date. It seems to be showing the older, improperly formatted version of the image, instead of the newer, properly formatted one. I tried a little bit to fix it, but I couldn't. So, is my browser just weird, or can someone fix this? --Halfstache 01:20, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Babette in fight?[edit]

Maybe a silly question but what does she do in fight. For example, if some stored Dead Thrall respawn as a hostile and attack the player or other members of DB, how she reacts? Does she have any spells or weapons?--89.23.180.12 19:18, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes and it is possible to test only in Dawnstar Sanctuary because thralls(or any other followers) are not permittable in Falkreath one.--89.23.180.12 19:20, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Gourmet Advice?[edit]

If you ask Babette about the contract to locate and kill "The Gourmet", she tells you "Don't kill the Gourmet! I love his recipes, the world will be bland without him." or something along those lines, I was under the impression that Vampires in the TES series can't eat, based on a certain nightmare from Oblivion and the chef at the Blue Palace commenting on Sybille never eating. This happens in Oblivion, too. When you read Vicente's note, he tells Ocheeva that he can't eat food with garlic in it due to his allergy, which implies he CAN and DOES eat. Anyone else noticed this? - OblivionAnna 70.189.103.181 02:31, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't think they need to eat, since they can drink blood instead, but that doesn't mean they can't eat, some may do to keep up appearances, or simply for pleasure. If you're a vampire in the game after all then all food affects you as normal. -- Haravikk 15:17, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Make Babette a Blade[edit]

Is there any way to make Babette a part of the Blades? It will be so fun having a "kid" in the Blades.— Unsigned comment by 1.64.101.159 (talk) on 16 April 2012

No, only certain followers (indicated by a check in the "Blades" column) can be recruited for the Blades. eshetalk 14:38, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Removal[edit]

Playing on the PC and completed the Dark Brotherhood questline, I'm wondering if there's a clean way to remove her from the game, or is she needed for anything outside of alchemy training/DB questline? Burrich 23:16, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

She is not necessary for anything else. Vely►Talk►Email 23:25, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Bethdersa programmed the game so that the Child template is considered "Always Essential". Since Babette is based on this template she is always "Essential" meaning she cannot die. That's the reason she is not in the sanctuary during "Destroy the Dark Brotherhood". This is also why she survives "Death Incarnate". — Unsigned comment by 124.185.216.143 (talk) at 13:02 on 16 March 2013
Killing children, vampiric or otherwise, is generally considered a bad thing in gaming, so that's why children are always essential. Since you're on the PC, you can use the Console and simply disable her:

Random Encounter[edit]

According to one player on the Bethesda forums, Babette was found feeding on a random bandit during the evening. Since this was brought up on the Dawnguard beta forum (I never encountered this encounter so I'm not sure), other posters guessed that more random encounters like Babette feeding was added by Dawnguard. Babette gone missing?[edit]

I seem to have misplaced Babette from the Dawnstar Sanctury.....Has anyone else found this or know of a way to find her again? I'm on a PS3 so no consol commands for me to help! Biffa (talk) 12:03, 3 April 2013 (GMT)

The only time I'm aware of that Babette should be missing is if you've chosen to annihilate the Dark Brotherhood. If you're not doing that (which, obviously, you're not if you're in Dawnstar), then about the only other thing I can suggest is to fast travel somewhere far away, perhaps even several places, then return and see if she's back where she should be. Robin Hood  (talk) 04:56, 4 April 2013 (GMT)
Unlike other residents, Babette tends to move pretty often around the Sanctuary. She can be found either near the Night Mother, in her bedroom (first on the left) or in your bedroom. Using Detect Dead is pretty helpful because she's short and easy to miss. -- Elakyn (talk) 08:37, 4 April 2013 (GMT)
Thanks, but have tried that, she doesn't appear to be inside the sanctury.... Biffa (talk) 23:01, 6 April 2013 (GMT)
Yay just bumped into Babette after at least a month missing! on the road towards Fort Dawnguard! mentioned something about Nazir's cooking and then said she needed to get back to the sanctury before dawn. Hopefully she'll bethere when next I visit. Biffa (talk) 19:50, 18 April 2013 (GMT)

Can't pickpocket her[edit]

Is she not supposed to be pickpocketable?--Rope Dog (talk) 20:20, 26 June 2013 (GMT)

No, essential NPCs and children are immune to pickpocketing. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:25, 26 June 2013 (GMT)

Dawnguard[edit]

I feel like Babette should have the glowing eyes with Dawnguard installed...Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 23:23, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
