[edit] Talos Blessing Glitch

I've noticed that, as an Orc, instead of the 20% Shout regen bonus listed, I receive 0%. Do blessings tend to differ between certain races? — Unsigned comment by 50.64.52.94 (talk) at 02:13 on 21 November 2011 (GMT)

I've also that as a breton. Perhaps it's a bug? — Unsigned comment by 86.42.250.232 (talk) at 20:39 on 21 November 2011 (GMT)
Nord, same issue. No visible change in shout times either, so it's not just a text bug. --86.137.117.97 17:52, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Mine displays as 0%, but my shout times ARE reduced by 20%. Stacks with Talos amulet too. — Unsigned comment by 24.5.30.82 (talk) at 01:30 on 25 November 2011 (GMT)

() I have this problem as well, as a Nord on the Xbox 360. I thought it was Thalmor propaganda at first :P 74.66.29.9 04:47, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Zero

Bug report moved from front page: "(I saw the same thing on PS3 before I got an Amulet of Talos. I assumed it was because I hadn't gotten a dragon shout yet. No 0% after attaining one to the best of my knowledge.)"
In my own experience, I've had dragon shouts and the effect still claims to be 0% on the PC version. Thought there might be a Talos quest I have to do to get the blessing. --Fluff 22:38, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Someone mentioned on another site that the reason the bonus is zero percent is because the worship of Talos is prohibited, so the zero-bonus blessing actually fits with the main storyline. 69.108.160.153 15:39, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Bug report moved from front page: "Actually it works properly; blessing+amulet of talos provides %40 fortify shouts effect. It seems like %0 is a display bug. (PC)" --Fluff 17:34, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
In this other talk page it's explained. It's merely a display bug. — Unsigned comment by 78.12.226.99 (talk) at 20:02 on 20 February 2013 (GMT)

[edit] Blessing times

The wikis say the blessing last for 8 hours. Yet in game, they seem to last forever. For example you can get the Talos blessing from the Talos altar in Whiterun (behind the preacher) and notice how all your shout cooldowns are reduced. If you wait >8 hours and check again, your shout durations are still reduced when I thought the blessing would have disappeared by then. Is this a bug or are they actually supposed to be permanent until replaced by another blessing? — Unsigned comment by 24.5.217.58 (talk) at 14:51 on 22 November 2011 (GMT)

It's real-time hours, not in-game. --86.137.117.97 17:52, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Standing stones

should the standing stone blessings be listed here, they prett much are blessings just without the timer. 87.194.26.132 18:48, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

If anything, these blessings should be moved to the Stones page. --86.137.117.97 17:50, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
There should be some words on the blessings, mentioning that gift of charity stack, while the others don't. For example. — Unsigned comment by Ible (talkcontribs) at 18:08 on 25 November 2011 (GMT)

[edit] Lycanthropy

In the bugs section it's mentioned that any blessing will remove your Lycanthropy 'disease' so if you want to remain a werewolf you can't use the shrines. Was it not confirmed that the removal of Lycanthropy is a bug, and you do in fact remain a werewolf if you use a shrine, with the only cure being the one you discover in the Companions questline? I just wanted to check before I changed it. And sorry, not too sure how to sign my name properly The Invisible Chocobo 04:34, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

I got tons of blessings when I was a werewolf and they didn't affect my lycanthropy... I don't think it's a disease, and I think the line should be removed. 208.206.3.254 21:17, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Blessings versus Amulets

Am I correct in thinking that all amulets give identical bonuses to the blessings of the same type, minus the cure disease effect? For example, an Amulet of Stendarr grants a 10% improvement to Blocking, as does Stendarr's blessing. Is it worth mentioning on this page the direct relationship between blessings and amulets, since the amulets of course allow you to keep a permanent effect, or mix and match effects depending upon the situation? -- Haravikk 19:11, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

They are similar, but not necessarily identical. For example the Amulet of Akatosh gives +25% magicka regeneration, the blessing +10%. --Alfwyn 19:16, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

[edit] IDs are incorrect?

I don't think those are the correct IDs for Blessings. Adding those to the player adds hand-equippable, castable spells that equip with no idle spell-in-hand animation and impossibly high casting costs.

Perhaps the correct IDs for blessings are in the type Magic Effects - but how do you add / remove Magic Effects (MGEF) type items to the player?

Example. Blessing of Kynareth. Instead of SPEL FB997 it would be MGEF FB98F.

174.6.144.141 17:36, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

I just ran into this too. I tried to add Blessing of Zenithar and Gift of Charity to save time going and getting the blessings in-game. When I used addspell it put them into my spell book instead of listing them under "active effects". Does anyone know how to add the effects? Also interested in adding guardian stone effects via console (thief/mage/warrior). I get tired of all of the traveling and loading screens just to get these effects the "normal" way. [edit] Voice of the Sky

In my observation, if one has the blessing Voice of the Sky, one's follower also seems to benefit from it. Has anyone else noticed this? Or seen evidence to the contrary? Elisevs 01:01, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Generally, NPCs and creatures which become hostile to you also become hostile to your follower. Likewise, if creatures or NPCs don't become hostile to you, they don't become hostile toward your follower either. ABCface 07:30, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Ah, thanks, that clears it up. Oh, and by the by, I also noticed that I lost the blessing before I should have (it hadn't been anywhere near 24 hrs., more like half an hour), after visiting a dungeon. Can one lose the blessing by not following the Way of the Voice, i.e., by using shouts offensively? Elisevs 03:46, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Voice of the Sky bug

Slaughterfish seem to be totally unaffected by this. I'll update the page sometime today with the info, if no one's corrected me by then. 74.134.243.62 19:51, 15 February 2013 (GMT)

[edit] Blood of the Ancients

In my game it lasts 11 days AND it gives a bonus of 50 to 100 healtpoints.--Damx (talk) 13:29, 10 May 2013 (GMT)
