Pedastal[edit]

I have found this place, and there is a pedestal there. There does not seem to be a way to activate it even though when you mouseover it it says "press E to activate". I'm at a loss. — Unsigned comment by 68.0.187.228 (talk) at 22:48 on 15 November 2011

That pedestal is part of the Power of the Elements book quest once you are a master of destruction magic. It's the third step in the quest. You place the book on the altar then shoot it with specific magic. — Unsigned comment by 72.191.125.237 (talk) at 05:59 on 17 November 2011
This place is also used by the radiant quest system of Skyrim. The objective was to kill the bandid chief and then report back to Raerek in order to collect bounty. The quest was delivered by the courrier and listed under "miscellaneous" category. -PGR — Unsigned comment by 178.128.41.190 (talk) at 01:52 on 22 November 2011
In order to activate the pedestal, you first need to have a destruction skill of 100. The quest is activated by asking Faralda at the Mages Guild if there is anything more to learn about the destruction skill. — Unsigned comment by 24.118.211.85 (talk) at 19:07 on 31 May 2013

Possible to Glitch Bounty Hunter missions in the Reach.[edit]

I had killed the bandits here a long time ago. Recently the Markath Steward gave me a bounty order to kill the Bandit Leader here. Usually this is no problem because bandits repopulate cleared out areas pretty quickly. I thought something was up when I didn't get an arrow marker on the map or compass (and the button to locate on map was grayed out), but I went there anyway and there are no bandits there. More than enough time has passed since first clearing the place without the misc. quest (all surrounding areas are chock full of Forsworn). I don't know if this will ever "fix" itself, but you should be forewarned, as this will prevent you from getting further bounty hunter missions in the Reach.--RumblePen 08:58, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

I think I discovered why this place isn't being repopulated. It seems bandits do not simply spawn at a location such as this, they travel to it. I witnessed this with Silent Moons Camp and Helgen. The bandits who are suppose to move in here after it has been cleared aren't able to navigate to it. I believe I found them between Markath and Four Skull Lookout, trapped in a valley. Killing them away from home didn't solve the radiant quest, something must have to be triggered upon them reaching their destination.--RumblePen 02:36, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I ran into a glitch when doing the bounty here. The map quest marker correctly pointed here, but the on screen quest marker led me to a nearby Forsworn camp instead. Following the marker on the map led me to the correct area. — Unsigned comment by 99.32.153.176 (talk) on January 7, 2012 21:36
I travelled to Four Skull Lookout and was immediately confronted by bandits of various levels, including a bandit thug. I completed Destruction Ritual Spell and I am very sure that I killed them when I came here on that quest. Mine seem to have respawned- perhaps this glitch was fixed with the latest update. The bandits repopulated in my game (April 2015). Perhaps this is due to the unofficial patches? -- Kaliban99 97.122.235.178 10:58, 16 April 2015 (GMT)

() The "Traveling Bandits" is a radiant random encounter. They are always going toward a bandit camp that has an inside transition zone. Once they go "inside", they disappear from the game. I've encountered them many times, fought them, fought them and the bandits already populating a location, and followed them "into" a populated inside area (in sneak mode) which is how I know they disappear instead of joining bandits already there. Also, I've cleared a bandit camp, including the inside region, followed the group into the inside zone, only to be met by the cleared dungeon with no bandits. p.s. This area does respawn using the standard dynamics. I've fought them many times per game through multiple play-throughs. (Philbert)72.131.11.225 19:32, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
There is no "Traveling Bandits" encounter. Two bandit encounters, "Bandits dressed as Imperial Soldiers" and "Bandit beat down", have post-encounter scripts that send the bandits towards a bandit camp, but only after their encounters have played out. If you have encountered bandits "just traveling" then you have missed the preceding event that spawned them and you are only seeing the aftermath. Unless you are using mods, in which case there are a number of bandit mods and traveling/wandering groups mods that have such things. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:34, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

Ruin or Nordic Ruin[edit]

Is this a plain ruin (as suggested by the graphics) or a Nordic ruin? 213.112.128.96 16:23, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

I believe the difference in categorisation is because this location doesn't have an interior, and all locations categorised as Nordic ruins do. --Gaebrial 10:41, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
