Septim[edit]

Okay.. I don't even know why I did the following... I guess I was bored, though it was an interesting find. If you look closely at a septim in your inventory (you have to open a container, go to 'MISC', and find 'Gold'):

You will be able to see some words in caps around the edge of the coin:
THE EMPIRE IS LAW
THE LAW IS SACRED

Oh and that's not all, it gets even better. I doubt anyone would bother to do this in their inventory — flipping over the coin. You will be able to see that the crest of the Imperial Legion is on the reverse side. There are also words in caps around the edge of the reverse side:
PRAISE BE AKATOSH AND ALL THE DIVINES

So umm... are these quotes related to any lore or something? I don't know anything because I only played Skyrim. Should this information be put in the article somewhere? Or is it even worth mentioning in the first place. ~ Psylocke 12:21, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

From searching the internet, it appears that the head on the other side is Tiber Septim's, also. Akatosh is the chief deity of the Nine Divines, so he would be the one mentioned above others, and the other two lines just appear to be general Empire things, nothing too important.
I'm not sure that they're worth mentioning. TESWikia has images of the sides of the coin on their Gold page, so showing may be better than telling here. Vely►Talk►Email 14:53, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Gold Piles[edit]

Just added the Pile of Gold from Dragonborn to the table since it seemed like this was the proper place for it. I'm sorry if I wasn't able to add the right templates but for now, it looks right. Oh, and the amount added when activating the pile was just from my own experience, I figured it would be a good starting point, then people can adjust it if they find higher or lower numbers. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 21:12, 3 February 2013 (GMT)

They are implemented internally as activators. That is the usual player.additem in the PC console won't work with them - not sure how to document that. There are two versions that should look differently, do they give different ranges of gold? --Alfwyn (talk) 21:40, 3 February 2013 (GMT)
From what I see in the script (dlc2goldpilescript.pex) used by both gold pile activators, the range is 75-100 (inclusive) and Imperial Luck adds additional 5-20 gold. --Roger (talk) 21:50, 5 February 2013 (GMT)
I'll be testing it again soon. I watched two online walk-throughs and I saw several instances of the amount being over 100.--BlackhawkXIII (talk) 01:11, 7 February 2013 (GMT)
Yes, this is connected with bugged Imperial Luck (see my post here). So the range should be 80-120, no matter what your race is. --Roger (talk) 14:36, 7 February 2013 (GMT)

Move currency into different article[edit]

I don't see any good reason to have the gold currency and the gold element in the same article. They're two distinct item types with no relation to each other. — Unsigned comment by 97.89.171.92 (talk) at 01:45 on 13 July 2013

An article on the currency would not have very much information. It is simpler to have one page than two pages, one of which would be quite small. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:16, 29 July 2013 (GMT)
I concur with Silence is Golden. A currency page would be little more than a stub. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 19:08, 31 July 2013 (GMT)
