== Child follows me and initiates dialogue relentlessly ==

Just for info, this is on Xbox 360. I'm at Heljarchen Hall with Runa Fair-Shield and Lucia. This problem is only with Runa Fair-Shield, and only started recently.

Whenever I'm at home, Runa makes a beeline for me and opens dialogue with "Did you need something, Papa?" or "Yes?" or something similar, as if I had initiated the dialogue. Nothing I say to her or give her will make her leave me alone, and I've tried all the usual solutions to bugs like this (save and reload, fast travel away and return, etc), and I haven't seen anyone else report this problem. It's exceedingly annoying to have to close the dialogue thing every ten seconds.

If anyone knows what happened and how I can fix it, I'd be much obliged. — Unsigned comment by 24.40.132.158 (talk) at 05:14 on 9 December 2012‎

Is this a bug or excessive realism? — Unsigned comment by 97.73.64.149 (talk) at 21:18 on 12 December 2012
This glitch has been happening to me as well, except with Lucia. I've tried multiple solutions, such as making her move to a new home, or killing her pet, but nothing seems to work.--96.27.143.148 04:30, 5 January 2013 (GMT)
Would you happen to have the Steadfast Dwarven Spider/Sphere as a follower? I had this same problem, and after sending my dwarven automaton buddy back to Kagrumez, it seemed to have been resolved. — Unsigned comment by 75.142.26.19 (talk) at 06:58 on 6 February 2013
I hope you guys get the extreme humor in this thread... — Unsigned comment by 99.237.37.160 (talk) at 04:12 on 14 February 2013
I had the same problem on ps3. Telling the steadfast dwarven sphere to leave my service immediately fixed this bug. Thanks random guy — Unsigned comment by 24.178.86.85 (talk) at 22:06 on 26 February 2013
Yes on reflection it happened to me too, and when the dwarven sphere left the house was normal again — Unsigned comment by 82.17.14.182 (talk) at 20:18 on 9 March 2013

Missing Steward?

Okay, so I bought Lakeview Manor, and I brought my Folkreath housecarl with me. I asked her to be steward, she said yes, blah, blah, anyhow, I dissmissed her as a follower, and she said : 'I'll take care of the house while your gone " So I went and upgraded the house, and when I came back, she was gone! I looked everywhere, but no steward! Any help or anything, please? — Unsigned comment by 86.44.222.107 (talk) at 19:34 on 9 December 2012

I have a similar problem. In Heljarchen Hall, I have had Lydia as my steward, Jordis as my wife and Gregor as my house carl. Lydia has gone missing. She is not at Heljarchen. I have also checked Breezehome, Dragonsreach, the Whiterun Hall of the Dead and Dawnguard Castle. She has not been my follower for some time. Serana was my follower when Lydia went missing. In order to keep her useful as I leveled, I gave her some of the best armour and weapons I have ever had. After having her around for awhile, it is annoying that she has gone missing. ~Thomas Creo — Unsigned comment by 24.9.83.1 (talk) at 10:08 on 24 December 2012
Assuming you are on PC and not a console, then you can use the console commands to find the missing NPC, or at least whatever has happened to them. Look up the NPCs page here on this site, and find the RefID for that character. Open the console with the tilde key (~), and type prid RefID. This will target the NPC. From that point, you can check status, move them to you or move you to them, or even resurrect them if they've died somehow.
However, it's been my experience that both the housecarl and the steward wander outdoors, sometimes for some distance from the house. They may just be outside someplace. Quillan (talk) 15:13, 24 December 2012 (GMT)
Actually, its quite easy to explain. When your children move in into any of the HF houses they will create ownership issues with the two single beds upstairs; the beds are normally occupied by the housecarl and steward. If you have children there, they will have priority (strangely even when you have the bedroom wing added) and excommunicate the previous owner. When Lydias sleep package kicks in at midnight, she is finding no available bed at Heljarchen, and simply goes (to Breeze) home instead. She will be in the area of the meadery when her normal idle package starts at 6 am and heads back, arriving at around noon. So for half of the day you wont find her anywhere near the house. The same happens to Greg (though I have not found out yet where he is heading to - once I collected both Greg and Val near Helgen; I think the problem stems from the fact that the HF housecarls have no default bed except for in the player-built house, making their sleep package go ballistic). (And yes, I recently stalked Lydia all the way...)--81.217.30.39 19:36, 4 January 2013 (GMT)
An easy way to look for the steward if the steward is missing is to use the detect life spell. For PC users it is best to use TGM in the console for unlimited mana while using the detect life spell. If the steward is not in the house, check outside of the house. Usually some stewards tend to get out of the house and patrol the perimeter. If the steward is still missing, try using the console command player.placeatme <stewardID> <#> and see if that helps. If it does not, try resurrecting your steward by using the console and then using the player.placeatme command.
I've had the same problem and I just used the command "A2C94.moveto player" (A2C94 is lydia's reference ID). Told her to part ways then told her to follow again. All is well now... (btw at first I tried teleporting to her and she was stuck inside the lakeside manor and as soon as I teleported I fell through the ground...) — Unsigned comment by 94.122.197.251 (talk) at 17:03 on 1 February 2013

Well Rested

Sleeping in beds will give you Well Rested bonus, just that it doesn't tell you it has been given. Check the Active Effect menu and you can see it is active. I play on PC with no mod (thus no unofficial patch). — Unsigned comment by 175.139.92.96 (talk) at 12:26 on 21 January 2013‎

I downloaded the Hearthfire add on but it isnt working

When i downloaded the dragonborn add on, it didnt let me play it right away. it took a while. I also downloaded the hearthfire add on but it isnt working. I should be able to buy land and build my own house. Why isnt it working?? — Unsigned comment by 67.244.155.34 (talk) at 20:01 on 29 January 2013

As with most Elder Scrolls add-ons, you need to accomplish something first before you can use the add-on. There are mini quests you need to complete before you are allowed to buy land and build on it. Have a look at the wiki entries for each house, to find out what you need to achieve first. For example, to buy a plot of land in The Pale, you will need to complete the quest Waking Nightmare first. Darictalk 00:59, 7 February 2013 (GMT)

Hearthfire added to PS3

Hearthfire has been added to the PS3 version of Skyrim. Price is currently $2.49 until Tuesday (when the PSN store updates), and will then return to the regular $4.99. I believe it's required to have the latest patch to run this, being 1.8.183.0.7.

Note: in the downloaded content in the main menu, it lists the add-on as "Hearthfires".

Someone with the proper privileges should update the wiki page. — Unsigned comment by DR-ARGYLE (talkcontribs) at 04:36 on 20 February 2013

In the UK Heathfire is 1/2 price at the moment at £1.99 [BARGAIN!] but only for ONE week.
Yes I have this item... I killed Sissels father for beating her, so I have adopted Sissel and Blaise - my husband is Argonian [Scouts-Marshes] we're living at the Morthal land [can't remember the name] and the Steward is the Housecarl from Solitude, but the girl, Sissel... she's disappeared! I hear of kidnappings everywhere on other platforms, but I can't find anything to lead me to her?
I've set the kids up with a special dagger each, I've given Blaise a Daedric Dagger, enchanted with paralysis and absorb health, I've done an elven dagger enchanted the same for Sissel, but I can't find her anywhere :-( lol!
Any information on the whereabouts of my little girl, let me know, and you shall be rewarded ;-) [lol] Please contact me on... **********. :-p — Unsigned comment by 82.17.14.182 (talk) at 12:54 on 25 February 2013

Winnie the Pooh Easter Egg?

The honey pot that shows up above the mantle in the different houses you can build looks for all the world like a "Hunny pot" from Winnie the Pooh. 172.12.96.180 19:51, 24 February 2013 (GMT)

Bugfest

After building Lakeside Manor 3 times, reverting to saves each time, I was going to compile a list of bugs that cropped up. I gave that up and reverted to the save and gave up the building project as well. Put it simply, I'm going to wait for a full comprehensive patch. Wasting a huge amount of time and resources as well as jeopardizing the entire game down the road just to play a shoddy rendition of the Sims? Bleah. — Unsigned comment by Sniffles (talkcontribs)
