Thief's Cache[edit]

Should we mention the thief's cache, 1x fly amanita, 1x namira's rot in the garden? They are already in the garden before you buy any upgrades. 87.194.26.132 01:48, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

dead reanimation[edit]

idk if it was this house so i need testing but i had a solitude gaurd reanimated with dead thrall {probbaly only spell it works with since it dosnt turn them to ash} so i kill him and put him in the basement i come back probaly a ingame month later and in my basement is a live solitude gaurd. any ideas or explanations? — Unsigned comment by 141.0.9.119 (talk) at 21:53 on 22 November 2011

I haven't reanimated a corpse, by I have one mannequin in the basement that moves around of its own volition. Once it was over by the alchemy lab with its face to the wall, and another time it was upstairs in front of the main entrance door. Anyone else have a haunted mannequin? Maybe I can make it a follower. — Unsigned comment by Wyldefx (talkcontribs) at 18:50 on February 21, 2012
My mannequin scoots back an inch or so every time I come home. It moved through the wall and knocked all my stuff off the shelf on the other side. Then it started moving all over the place. Once I woke up to find it standing at the foot of the bed, staring at me with those beady little Nightingale Hood eyes. RunningNudeThroughSovngarde 16:29, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Another obtain method?[edit]

Doing the main quest in the negotiations I gave Riften to the empire and I was able to purchase the house with doing no Riften quests other then getting the blade out of the town. --173.18.71.33 04:28, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Shield/dual weapon plaque is kind of bugged[edit]

I don't mean that the weapons sometimes fall off, or that the shield starts off upside down (although both seem to be true) - I mean it removed other weapons from my inventory (weapons I definitely did not have equipped), and left them hovering in mid air in a different room. 124.170.15.129 21:47, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Also one of them appears to have vanished, although it's possible it's just somewhere inaccessible. 124.170.15.129 21:48, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
I've had that same experience elsewhere (particularly in Hjarum) in Windhelm. Probably just a game glitch rather than specific to Honeyside. — Unsigned comment by Wyldefx (talkcontribs) at 18:42 on February 21, 2012

Bugged[edit]

I've done the Skooma quest line, I've helped her people, and I've done a number of assorted bounty quests, yet neither the Jarl will talk to me about becoming a Thane nor will her steward offer me the home. 46.117.247.223 06:05, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Best go to the "I Done Got Thaned" discussion with that issue. --Ulkomaalainen 00:04, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Garden[edit]

I found two grass pods in my garden but no Jazbay. Anyone can confirm that? Ulkomaalainen 00:04, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Actually I found the Jazbay. Still, two grass pods. And I never said anything about there being no Jazbay, any claim to the contrary must be part of some ancient conspiracy. --Ulkomaalainen 11:07, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

BUY THIS HOUSE FOR FREE!!![edit]

I've purchased Breezehome, Proudspire Manor, Honeyside, and Vlindrel Hall for 0 gold each(haven't tried Hjerim yet, XBox). All you need is the minimum amount of gold to purchase the property and any type of container close to the steward.

1. Complete all the respective Thane tasks so you can purchase property AND have the minimum amount of gold to purchase the house.

2. Check for a nearby lootable container close to the steward (chest, dresser, guard body, sack, ect...)

3. SAVE!!!

4. Make sure you SAVED!!!

5. Buy the house/decorations and immediately exit the conversation and open the container.

6. Deposit all of your gold in the container and exit the container menu. You'll know you own the house when the steward gives you the key and decorating guide AND NO GOLD REMOVED! They'll just continue their dialogue for the decorations.

7. Repeat as necessary.

WHITERUN - This is a bit tricky. Try catching the steward after he wakes up in the morning. After he leaves his bedroom in the Jarl's Quarters on the second floor, he'll pass by a chest that's under the table with the civil war map on it. If you can't catch him, wait by his bed while he's sleeping and talk to him so he wakes up. Let him start to get back in bed and wait until around 10am or a little later and he should still be getting in bed. He will then get out of bed and proceed towards the door to Dragonsreach. Beat him through it and catch him as he passes the chest.

MARKARTH - There is a dwarven chest on the right as you face the steward.

RIFTEN - There are long, short chests on either side of the throne.

SOLITUDE - Behind Falk Firebeard there is a cupboard.

WINDHELM - I haven't tried this one yet because of a bug related to the Blood On The Ice quest. I didn't notice any containers near the steward in the Palace of the Kings so a process similar to aquiring Breezehome in Whiterun may need to be used. Or if you don't mind killing a guard and dragging his body closer. Or creatively exploiting Beast Form to kill a guard without a fine(don't get caught transforming).

Try this in other in-game transactions as well(carriages, mercenaries... Hint: bodies are moveable containers and rabbits and foxes are very easy to move!)

IMPORTANT!!! After purchasing the house and all the upgrades make sure all the weapon/shield plaques/cases/racks function properly. I purchased Breezehome and entered the house before purchasing any upgrades and returned again after purchasing the upgrades to find none of the plaques in working order. (I bought the house from the steward around 4am in the Jarl's Quarters and the furnishings option wasn't available. Around 10am I returned and bought the decorations in Dragonsreach and the racks didn't work.)

Add notes and comments if you have trouble or this works for you. I'll update if I can get this to work for Hjerim.

Alchemy[edit]

Do the alchemy supplies inside Honeyside respawn? — Unsigned comment by EthanTheAltmer (talkcontribs) at 15:25 on 31 December 2011

I was wondering the same thing but I just waited 35 game days (just to be sure) and my shelves in the basement are still empty. I'd have left all the stuff there had I known it was one-time use only...kolokoL 20:03, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Purchase requirements[edit]

I wasn't offered the chance to buy this house until after I'd completed the Supply and Demand quest. I'd completed enough helper quests around Riften, as as soon as I returned to the Jarl on completion of Supply and Demand, I was told I could then buy it. Peterguard 20:31, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

You are right, that quest is a requirement too. Wolok gro-Barok 20:49, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Housecarl[edit]

I don't think the Housecarl is appointed when you buy the house, but rather when you are appointed Thane. I encountered the bug discussed at the talk page for I Done Got Thaned, and there was no Housecarl in evidence when I went to the house. I redid the Supply and Demand quest (because that's where I'd last saved) and did as suggested on that talk page to make sure I got appointed Thane this time, and when I visited the house Iona was there. Peterguard 22:50, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Basement Storage Safe?[edit]

This entry says that there is no storage in the basement of Honeyside, but there is that one room that I assume belongs to Iona, since the bed is owned by someone else. Everything in the wardrobe, dresser, and night stand are free game for me, though. Has anyone tested to see if these containers are safe? I've just stored all my enchanting and alchemy supplies in them. - Ophidimancer 10:20am, January 24 2012

Yes, the containers in the housecarl's room are safe containers. I have added a note about that on the article page. Alphabetface 18:04, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

reputation needed among citizens?[edit]

I've done the 3 pre-req quests, but the Jarl still isn't mentioning the house. What quests qualify for the "also built a reputation with Riften citizens by doing a few general quests for the people of the town" requirement? Trep35 04:02, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

If you've already done the skooma quests, I would recommend doing as many of the quests in the Riften table of this page as it takes, which will probably be between 3 and 5. I don't remember for sure, but I believe an objective popped up in the Miscellaneous part of my quest menu which prompted me to talk to the Jarl when I had enough. If you are playing a low-level character or don't have much gold, these quests are pretty fast and easy, as they basically only require fast-travelling and speaking to NPCs: 1 (Snilf), 2, 3, 4, 5. Hope this helps. Alphabetface 23:18, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Duplicating Mannequins[edit]

I stored some Dark Brotherhood armor and the Necromancers Amulet on the Mannequins in honeyside, upon returning the mannequins had moved off their pedestals, so I removed the items. Now every time I re-enter honeyside the DB armor and amulet respawn on the mannequins. I can remove the items, sell them but I can't use the mannequins (put a cheap pair of boots on them and they were replaced), has this happened to anyone else and is there some way to fix them? I'm on the 360. 24.49.86.237 23:26, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Apploud

This is a well-known glitch, useful for duplicating expensive armor and selling. I think what you have to do is take the original items off, put a new set of items on, then remove those. I think that should fix it. Otherwise, Google is your friend :) • JATalk 00:21, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Weapon Racks[edit]

I cannot seem to active the weapon racks/plaques with a weapon out. Anyone else know of a fix to this issue? -82.34.23.39 22:22, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Can't buy[edit]

I did the guest for Wujeeta and the jarl... But i can't buy the house? — Unsigned comment by Skyrim-noliferXDDD (talkcontribs) at 15:01 on 24 May 2012

Did you do all three quests in that quest line? They are Helping Hand, The Raid, and Supply and Demand. On top of this, you also have to help the citizens by doing some miscellaneous quests around that hold, The Rift. • JATalk 00:22, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Interior stairway barrels not safe?[edit]

There are 3 barrels on top of the stairs leading to the basement. On PS3, they were perfectly safe. On PC, after not returning to Honeyside for over a month, 2 of them had emptied - not respawned, but all items disappeared. Ingredients stored in one were still there, but custom-made potions in the other, and stolen items stored in the third one were all gone. Has anyone encountered this glitch too? (sorry for the "strange" English, not my native language). ([User: ClearSkies]) - 14:53, 14 July 2012.

Works for me on PC. Test #1: put books in the first barrel, quick saved inside Honeyside, walked outside, set timescale to 1000000, idled for over 1 year, set timescale to 20 (default), walked back in, books still in first barrel. Test #2: reloaded quick save inside Honeyside, put mod weapon in second barrel right of the first, put an amulet in third barrel behind, walked outside, fast traveled to Whiterun, waited 31+ days, fast traveled back to Riften stable, walked into the city, found previous stuff in barrel outside Honeyside gone, walked in, stuff still in all three barrels. 50.0.25.231 20:58, 28 December 2012 (GMT)

Visit Honeyside, your new house - Not Completing[edit]

I just finished the quest line to become Thane of Riften and when you purchase Honeyside you get a misc quest that sayd 'Visit Honeyside, your new house.' When I enter Honeyside the quest doesn't get completed. I cannot find anywhere that tells me what this quest name is (so I can manually overwrite with setstage). I can't even find the quest in ShowQuestTargets. Does anyone know a way to fix this bug or the name of the quest and stage to complete it? — Unsigned comment by 76.31.164.249 (talk) at 01:21 on 28 September 2012‎

First, make sure you've gone through the front door to Honeyside. If you go through the other one, nothing will happen. I'm not even sure if you can do that, but I thought I should mention it, just to be sure. Failing that, try SetObjectiveCompleted HousePurchase 30 1 and see if that does it. Enchanting Room not appearing[edit]

the bug seems to be similar to one for the breezehome alchemy lab and it is somehow connected to the DLCs: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/748140-skyrim-breezehome-alchemy-lab-wont-add-to-home/

Even if I buy the Enchanting Room from Anuriel in Riften, it won't appear and I can buy it again and again. — Unsigned comment by Fiftypercentgrey (talkcontribs) at 14:38 on 11 November 2012

I'm going to assume the related DLC is Hearthfire, seeing as the same thing happens to me with that and the Child's Bedroom. Schiffy (talk) 04:47, 22 November 2012 (GMT)
Does anyone know the console code for disabling and enabling the enchanter? This was an effective way to fix the issue with the alchemy table in Breezehome so I assume it would work here too, but I don't know the code. Statmonster (talk) 06:14, 11 January 2013 (GMT)
I have the exact same problem, even though I have the UHFP. Code for enchanting room is C7F1C - enter "prid c7f1c",followed by "enable". The downside is that the grotty original rubbish (broken shelf, hay, cobwebs) are still there, and you can't disable them normally. I select them one-by-one and use 'markfordelete' (warning: permanent!) The next time the cell is loaded they will be deleted from the world. You may also have the mannequins moving, click on them one-by-one and use 'tai' (toggle ai) to put them back into a freeze state as they belong.
It's a rubbish 'fix', but it is better than having eternal cobwebs...121.99.24.188 06:38, 9 February 2014 (GMT)
I also have the UHFP and encountered this problem. I found the code ID to remove the clutter and cobwebs. Typing "prid xx004258" then "disable" should remove them and allow you to add the id for the enchanting room or child's bedroom without clutter in the way. The numbers in "xx" will be whatever number Hearthfire is in your mod load order. Hope that helps, I searched for hours looking for the ID code for the clutter and couldn't find it...eventually I found it myself through trial and error. — Unsigned comment by 75.80.28.240 (talk) at 04:24 on 12 June 2014 (GMT)
Thank you so much for the console code for the clutter and cobwebs! I was going mad trying to remove this from my game, even installing a Honeyside mod and resetting the interior in console didn't fix it, but disabling it using the ID did! ~Holden — Unsigned comment by 50.46.201.99 (talk) at 03:56 on 25 August 2014

Do you have the latest patches installed? All of the houses have common bugs that have been fixed by official patches. If not, then there may be some ways to fix this, depending on what platform you are playing on (PC, Xbox, etc). --Xyzzy Talk 04:24, 6 April 2013 (GMT)

Will Honeyside Objects Respawn[edit]

When I perchased Honeyside I noticed it had tons of alchemy ingredients. But I'm too afraid to use any of them in fear they wont respawn. Does anyone know if they do or not? I make all my own potions and it gets hard to find some ingredients, but taunting to use the ones that come with Honeyside. Can anyone help? — Unsigned comment by 174.131.217.36 (talk) on 24 January 2014

Generally speaking, items in houses don't respawn, though there are exceptions. The Hearthfire houses, for example, respawn their ingredients regularly. For Honeyside, though, once it's gone, it's gone. Still, better to use them once than to leave them sitting there doing nothing but looking pretty...unless, of course, you like how they look more than you want to use them as ingredients. Robin Hood  (talk) 01:43, 25 January 2014 (GMT)

Price Range[edit]

The edit I just undid contains a number range (the total cost to upgrade Honeyside). I undid the edit because when I added the prices up, I got a total of 4,850 which was in the previous version. My question is why is the cost a range instead of one number? There isn't any note suggesting that there is a variation in prices. •WoahBro►talk 01:58, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

No option to buy[edit]

I completed all the quests and the jarl offered me the position as thane and told me to buy a house. I spoke with Anuriel and told her I want to buy the Honeyside, but the only option after that was "On second thought, perhaps I'll wait a bit longer to decide". Please help! I do have the money to buy the house. — Unsigned comment by 91.154.151.67 (talk) at 14:21 on 14 April 2018‎

When you say you have enough money, do you mean you have 5000 or 8000? There's a bug that allows you to spend less than 8000, even though that's supposed to be the cost of it. If you have a mod that fixes that minor bug or otherwise alters the cost of Breezehome (not a typo), though, it's possible it wants you to have the full 8000. Robin Hood  (talk) 08:19, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I did have over 8000 gold and I think I do have a mod that makes Breezehome cost ~12000 gold. So I went back to try buy the house with a lot more money and I was able to buy it with 8000 gold. Problem solved, although I don't know why I could not buy it earlier even though I had over 8000 gold in my pocket. — Unsigned comment by 91.154.151.67 (talk) at 19:14 on 26 April 2018
Yeah, if the mod made Breezehome more expensive, then you would've needed that amount of gold just to get the dialog option, even though the cost of Honeyside probably remained at 8000. Robin Hood  (talk) 19:20, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

Bedrooom Decorations can't be bought.[edit]

I'm having the same problem with breezehome, but I found the ID codes to use the console to disable the mess and then enable the finished room. Unfortunately, this page only lists the Enable Furnished Room codes; it doesn't have the "before" codes (the unfurnished clutter ID for disabling). I found the Before code for the Enchanter (which I couldn't buy) after a very long web search, but I can't find the Before code for the bedroom. Anyone know it? Anyone who knows any or all of those Before (clutter) codes would be my personal hero if they added them to the page.

PS: The "Before" code for the enchanter room is xx3004258 (xx where Hearthfire is in your load order. — Unsigned comment by 67.71.95.136 (talk) at 07:04 on 14 September 2018‎

They are the same codes. All you have to do is prid c7f18 and then disable to remove the bedroom furnishings. enable to add them back. —Dillonn241 (talk) 07:27, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
